With the dollar tanking, it doesn't look as bad vis. U.S. pricing. WS Pro low for the 98 is $90. Add all the costs to get it home and that's pushing $200 Cdn landed.
The USD has changed everything. At certain times I've found items in the LCBO that are more reasonable than in the US + exchange, and that's assuming you land them without duty.
The store at Robertson (or Richmond) and Kirkwood in Ottawa had a pile of the more expensive Cali stuff on 20% off yesterday. Not my cup o tea, so I didn't note which ones, but there were at least 8 different $50+ bottles on sale. Just sayin'...

I check out that store regularly, as they often put stuff on 20% sale. Usually Cali Cabs, but sometimes Bordeaux or CdP.

I was there about a week ago and recall seeing the 2012 Rutherford Ranch Reserve CS and the 2009 Krupp Brothers Veraison Red at 20% off. I'm not familiar with either, so didn't buy.

There are also a handful of expensive California Reds on sale at the Bank & Walkley store.

The Krupp is down 20% province wide.Good wine but not great value, unless taken in the context of the drop in the Canadian $ since it was listed. Re the others, the LCBO has a load of 2011s that haven't been moving, so the markdowns aren't surprising. The vintage produced what was likely the lowest quality generally for California Cabs in the past decade (or more).
8 pages of markdowns in Vintages. Most are wines that have been around for a while and are low numbers.

A few jumping out.
- Ridge Monte Bello 2011 $127.75 (reg $159.95)
* Half bottles @ $68.75

- L'Aventure Cabernet 2010 $78.75 (reg $98)

- Corison Cabernet 2005 $91.25 (reg $113.95)

A bunch of pricey Bordeaux:

- 09 Figeac $265.25

- 04 Ausone $632.25

- 05 LLC $395.75

- 08 La Providence $99.75

Chapoutier & Guigal

- 06 Ex Voto Rouge $231.25

- 2010 Le Pavillion Rouge Chapoutier $568.25

- 08 St. Joseph L'Hospice $63.25

- 07 Ex Voto Blanc $125.25

- 09 Jesuitengarten Riesling $77.65

Just a few.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I ventured west of Bronson (something I rarely do) to pick up the remaining bottles of the Adaptation cab, which is one of my favourites even at full price! Got a Paul Hobbs chardonnay as well, which we had last night but was not good QPR, IMHO, even at the lower price.

Just got back from the Bank and Walkley store where there are perhaps 30 or so bottles marked down from all regions, including some pricey Bordeaux and 2007 ports. Of course, the markdowns on the latter makes them merely over-priced, rather than grossly so!

Nothing up online as of yet. I got the list from a PC.

None of them are indicating that the price has been discounted, but they ARE showing the discounted price.

Or you could ask nicely if he had the whole list and if he were able to post it.

Yes, I should have been more clear. Prices are discounted, but couldn't see a way to find a discrete list of those that had discounted prices.
This has all been gone over a million times, but I still find the LCBO attitude to delists/markdowns bizarre.

There are relatively few people in the province who would ever consider paying (say) $50 for a bottle of wine. Why not make available to them the information that there has been a price reduction? I mean, assuming that you actually want to sell the wine...

Instead, we have an entire thread dedicated to stalking the LCBO and trying to find various bottles at various stores, copies of markdown lists from Product Consultants, etc. etc. It really is madness.

Etiquette is not his strong point.
