I haven't been there for a while but there is usually at least a small selection of reduced -price bottles on a side shelf, as well as a few other sprinkled through the Vintages section.

Coincidentally, I was talking to Sherry at the Stittsville store, and she said she was going to put the Othello on sale again. I think it's the 2011 on the shelf there now.

Sounds like it wouldn't be my style either, but I might try one first - at a great discount....

The 2011 got weaker reviews than 2009 from the various Ontario wine critics ... most of the notes seemed to be that it is a touch green.
I dropped by the store at Parkway Mall (Ellesmere & Victoria Park) to buy some 2010 Aurelio Settimo Barolo and found the 2010 Pecchenino Barolo San Giuseppe knocked down to $43 and 2012 Donjon CdP at $51. I left more on the shelf.
Seems the word has gone out to the PCs to start dropping prices on the old stuff. If so, happy to see it, though wish there was some price-reduced Donjon near here, it's always one of my fave CDPs
Somehow there are half bottles of Beaucastel available at Manulife store with vintages like 03, 05 and 06, for $46.85 each. Could be customer returns but may worth a try.

Just spoke to the product consultant. There are now only a few bottles of the 2005 remaining - she confirmed that they were customer returns.
2008 Massolino Barolo Riserva Vigna Rionda

11 bottles at Crossroads for $97.25. Not sure what it listed for originally at KGBO.

That's funny, they don't seem to show on the inventory. You were just there?
Nope. My office manager knows I love wine and that I was in Piemonte last fall. Her boyfriend is from Italy and she lived there for a few years, so we talk about wine quite a bit.

I got a text from her this evening: she was at the Crossroads store and sent me a photo of the Massolino and a note that it was in the clearance section for $97.25.

There were 12 bottles. She picked up one for me. 11 left. A consignment?

Current WS low is $120 U.S. FWIW.
Consignment wines on blowout don't show in inventory.
Apparently, July 1st is the deadline for a large amount of wine to be sold in the lcbo warehouse by the representing agent before the lcbo repo can unload it.
With the good stuff, the agents usually buy it up themselves to maintain allocations and not upset clients but occasionally some interesting wines slip through.

Thanks Sunny, Mangiare.

They must be breeding. This morning there were 22.
Picked up a few bottles of CUNE Gran Reserva 2008 yesterday for $32 (Discounted from $40) at Burnhamthorpe/427. Still several bottles remaining.

Also on sale at the Liberty Village location. But the PC there wasn't impressed: "flabby and low acidity".
