Those visiting their local LCBO outlets will find a lot of things discounted, as the most recent Vintages markdowns came into effect today. There is no comprehensive list anywhere that I know of and as always, selection will vary by store.
This page on the LiQuery website allows you to see what LCBO products have had a price drop in the past 7 days.

(I assume it's okay for me to post this link; apologies if not.)
Thanks for the link man. Very useful for system-wide discounts/delists.
Telmo Rodriguez Lanzaga Rioja 2012 $27 @ Doval in Oakville
NV Tarlant Zero Brut 375ml is in the clearance section at Crossroads for $29.70. That doesn't seem like a particularly big discount, but I still picked up a few. Good to have a few half bottles of Champagne on hand.
I hope you bought a lot, considering a magnum of Champagne is a single-serving portion.
fowler52 posted:Telmo Rodriguez Lanzaga Rioja 2012 $27 @ Doval in Oakville
Bastards. IIRC they sold it for $39 in Classics.
It's worth the $39. But it seems like Oakville is where wine goes to die nowadays, and not Crossroads.
2015 Montes Purple Angel released today -- $62. It's $25 cheaper than the global average winesearcher price and $32 cheaper than the average US price. Not much left already. Been drinking it for years and never had a bad vintage, even better after a few years in the cellar.
King & Spadina Store discounted a small handful of things 30%. I bought the last bottle of 2012 Fuligni for $65 (how pissed is Futronic?). Nothing else noteworthy on discount from my perspective, but who knows? You might find something in the dumpster dive...
Going to need to send a message about that one. There are still a few more bottles left in the system, so maybe a wider markdown will happen. Unlikely, but maybe.
System level markdowns on good products have plummeted to anemic levels. I'm finding that store level markdowns are now the best bet.
I've got a pic of it on the shelf is that helps, J.

Was out in the hinterland by my office and no luck. Still full price.
Cooper has 2014 Molitor Zeltinger Schlossberg Auslese Riesling*** white capsule discounted by $42. Only one left.

My store has a long standing tradition of zero in store mark downs on anything over $19.95 initial price. Just another reason the KGBO blows chunks.
Markham Bur Oak/Markham has 2011 Numanthia discounted by $14
Sociando Mallet 2012 was 68 now 55 system wide
vinelouse posted:2015 Cos D'estournel is a gorgeous wine and current available at significantly lower price. Lower then primeur price I believe. SKU#00475376 $230
Eglington/Glen Erin Dr. had two when I left.
Cheers.
Back up the truck!

did you see any kicking around anywhere? i had 3 of these, drank 1. it was perhaps the greatest bottle of Bordeaux i have had. &$*%ing fantastic.
The Laird St Vintages has brought in a lot of the unsold 2015 Bordeaux futures. I bought:
2015 Cos d'Estournel
2015 Ducru Beaucaillou
2015 Haut Bailly
I cleaned out the Cos but there are more of the Ducru Beaucaillou, Haut Bailly and many others left. If anyone is specifically looking for the Cos, you might try the Summerhill store.

Welcome to the forum. Which bottle did you like? I'm also confused: you're going back to the LCBO for more of it, but you live in Madrid?

Maybe that explains why there are so many out-of-stocks at the LCBO in the past 2 months. I heard they brought in a distribution system that no one understands - probably because they are shipping wines back to the countries of origin. That sounds like the kind of jackass thing the LCBO would excel in.
That and blocking access to The WineMuddler on their in-store wifi ...
Hopefully none of you were shopping recently at the Lodestar Rd store (Allen Rd. and Rimrock). An employee who worked there as recently as last Friday has tested positive.
Fuligni Reserva 2012 reduced to $179 from $208 today.

There appears to be a fair bit of it out there.

I find that 'sale' price strangely unmotivating. Perhaps if they knock it back another 20-30% I might find it more interesting.
Had to dig this thread out of the dumpster. The Lcbo has taken the pandemic as an opportunity to reduce hours, limit access to stores, ban product returns, and keep the shelves out of stock. It reminds me of stories about people lining up for rations in Communist Russia.
Well today the Laird St Vintages raised its fist against 'social responsibility' and put a bunch of wines on sale at 20% off. They used to do 30% discounts but the politburo at head office has come down on them for doing that. Expect them to send the Laird St staff to the gulag for breaching policy.

Hours are back to normal here and shelves seem to be as stocked as usual. And I'm happy they are limiting access. Not happy though they they are limiting returns, though they let me return some unopened products. But the SAQ allows all returns as of last week.

This afternoon, there was a lineup to get into the store that stretched all the way down the block and then doubled back on itself. The wait time to get into the store was 45+ minutes. If that is back to normal then I give up!

Wow that really sucks. I've lined up at two stores here and two over the border. Maybe 15 people in front of me at worst but never waited more than 15 minutes.
With the LCBO's approval, starting last Monday wine agents are now offering mix cases of consignment wines if you don't want to wait in line.
@bman posted:Are they shipping outside the GTA? And any favourite agents to recommend?
I would assume they would ship anywhere in Ontario, not sure what the fee would be.
I work for an agency (Noble Estates) and our mix cases aren't "live" yet. You would have to look around to see what others are offering. They will be pre made cases. So you can't pick and choose each bottle. (LCBO rule)

But if you were to know what I would want, could you pre make a case that fit that need??

There's the KGBO trying to be helpful and f**king it up again. Rob's suggestion of customising the pre-made cases might be the answer to playing their stupid game.
Draining the swamp means getting rid of the LCBO!

For sure. That would work.
VSO has marked down a bunch of things. I picked up a few bottles of 2013 Marchand Tawse Nuits St George for $50 which I am optimistic will be good value.
They are getting really anal-retentive. Not much of interest nor value there.
The stool softener worked! The Laird St Vintages are discounting a bunch of losers, and a small number of decent daily drinker wines, by 25%. Some of the ones I made note of are:
- 2012 Piper-Heidseick Brute $80 --> $60
- NV Piper-Heidsieck Essential Cuvee Reservee Extra Brute $64 --> $48
- NV JM Gobillard Brute Grande Reserve Premier Cru $47 --> $35
- 2013 Paternoster Don Anselme Aglianico $70 --> $52.55
- 2016 Morgante Don Antonio Reserve Nero d'Avola $46 --> $34.55
- 2017 Donnafugata Floramundi Cerasuolo di Voittoria $30 --> $22.50
- 2015 Frescobaldi Mormoreto $$69 --> $51.80
- 2015 Campo alle Comete $96 --> $72
- 2013 La Fuga Brunello $63 --> $47.25
- 2014 Corte Pavone Brunello $58 --> $43.50
- 2006 Faustino I Gran Reserva $32 --> $24
- 2016 Villa Maria Reserve Gimblett Gravels Syrah $50 --> $37.50
- 2016 La Ferme du Mont Cote Capelan CdP $98 --> $73.50
- 2017 La Ferme du Mont Vendage CdP $53 --> $39.75
- 2017 Tablas Creek Cotes de Tablas $44 --> $33
and for fans of domestic Niagara wine:
- 2015 Bachelder Wismer-Foxcroft N.2 Chardonnay $45 --> $33.75
There were a whole bunch more including several Amarone and many value-priced wines from California.

A slew of unsold Classics have been marked down 20-25%... They seem to have been scrubbed from lcbo.com but can still be found here -
http://www.liquery.com/cgi-bin/pricedrops.pl
One small success out of the markdowns in the above post - Dupont/Spadina had already marked down the Dubreuil-Fontaine Pernand Vergellesses 30%. So it turned out that it scanned in at 30% off the markdown price - $45 on Classics, $25 at the checkout...

I'm not finding the Grangier condrieu anywhere on the website, by name or number. But the condrieu below has Terrasses in the name. Any chance the list got the name and number wrong?

Thanks. Found a Landrieu that sounds more to my liking and cheaper. Bought three.
I bought a cross-section of El Enemigo reds from Bodegas Aleanna. The discounted prices are pretty attractive vs Catena labels here, and particularly compared to the US market.
Interested to hear how those show OTW.
I grabbed some of the Clemens-Busch GG's.
6 2017 Ridge MB in OWC - $236 each at Woodbridge LCBO (had 30)
It appears the 2014 Cote Rotie La Mouline on VSO bin ends went pretty fast. They were marked down to $350.00.
