The Laird St Vintages has brought in a lot of the unsold 2015 Bordeaux futures.  I bought:

2015 Cos d'Estournel

2015 Ducru Beaucaillou

2015 Haut Bailly

I cleaned out the Cos but there are more of the Ducru Beaucaillou, Haut Bailly and many others left.  If anyone is specifically looking for the Cos, you might try the Summerhill store.

My wife and I liked the third bottle alot. So I'm going back for more today.

Welcome to the forum. Which bottle did you like? I'm also confused: you're going back to the LCBO for more of it, but you live in Madrid?

Maybe that explains why there are so many out-of-stocks at the LCBO in the past 2 months.  I heard they brought in a distribution system that no one understands - probably because they are shipping wines back to the countries of origin.  That sounds like the kind of jackass thing the LCBO would excel in.

That and blocking access to The WineMuddler on their in-store wifi ...

Had to dig this thread out of the dumpster.  The Lcbo has taken the pandemic as an opportunity to reduce hours, limit access to stores, ban product returns, and keep the shelves out of stock.  It reminds me of stories about people lining up for rations in Communist Russia.

Well today the Laird St Vintages raised its fist against 'social responsibility' and put a bunch of wines on sale at 20% off.  They used to do 30% discounts but the politburo at head office has come down on them for doing that.  Expect them to send the Laird St staff to the gulag for breaching policy.

Hours are back to normal here and shelves seem to be as stocked as usual. And I'm happy they are limiting access. Not happy though they they are limiting returns, though they let me return some unopened products. But the SAQ allows all returns as of last week.

This afternoon, there was a lineup to get into the store that stretched all the way down the block and then doubled back on itself.  The wait time to get into the store was 45+ minutes.  If that is back to normal then I give up!

Wow that really sucks. I've lined up at two stores here and two over the border. Maybe 15 people in front of me at worst but never waited more than 15 minutes.

Are they shipping outside the GTA?  And any favourite agents to recommend?

I would assume they would ship anywhere in Ontario, not sure what the fee would be.

I work for an agency (Noble Estates) and our mix cases aren't "live" yet. You would have to look around to see what others are offering. They will be pre made cases. So you can't pick and choose each bottle. (LCBO rule)

But if you were to know what I would want, could you pre make a case that fit that need??

There's the KGBO trying to be helpful and f**king it up again.  Rob's suggestion of customising the pre-made cases might be the answer to playing their stupid game.

Draining the swamp means getting rid of the LCBO!

The stool softener worked!  The Laird St Vintages are discounting a bunch of losers, and a small number of decent daily drinker wines, by 25%.  Some of the ones I made note of are:

  • 2012 Piper-Heidseick Brute  $80 --> $60
  • NV Piper-Heidsieck Essential Cuvee Reservee Extra Brute  $64 --> $48
  • NV JM Gobillard Brute Grande Reserve Premier Cru  $47 --> $35
  • 2013 Paternoster Don Anselme Aglianico  $70 --> $52.55
  • 2016 Morgante Don Antonio Reserve Nero d'Avola  $46 --> $34.55
  • 2017 Donnafugata Floramundi Cerasuolo di Voittoria  $30 --> $22.50
  • 2015 Frescobaldi Mormoreto  $$69 --> $51.80
  • 2015 Campo alle Comete  $96 --> $72
  • 2013 La Fuga Brunello  $63 --> $47.25
  • 2014 Corte Pavone Brunello  $58 --> $43.50
  • 2006 Faustino I Gran Reserva  $32 --> $24
  • 2016 Villa Maria Reserve Gimblett Gravels Syrah  $50 --> $37.50
  • 2016 La Ferme du Mont Cote Capelan CdP  $98 --> $73.50
  • 2017 La Ferme du Mont Vendage CdP  $53 --> $39.75
  • 2017 Tablas Creek Cotes de Tablas  $44 --> $33

and for fans of domestic Niagara wine:

  • 2015 Bachelder Wismer-Foxcroft N.2 Chardonnay  $45 --> $33.75

There were a whole bunch more including several Amarone and many value-priced wines from California.

A slew of unsold Classics have been marked down 20-25%... They seem to have been scrubbed from lcbo.com but can still be found here -

I'm not finding the Grangier condrieu anywhere on the website, by name or number.  But the condrieu below has Terrasses in the name.  Any chance the list got the name and number wrong?

François Villard Les Terrasses du Palat Condrieu 2017

Viognier
