Also on sale at the Liberty Village location. But the PC there wasn't impressed: "flabby and low acidity".

I've seen it around at quite a few stores. I picked up 2 bottles at $30. If it turns out to be disappointing in a few years, I can always use it to cook with.

2011 Bruno Rocca Barbaresco Rabajà

15 bottles on the clearance shelf at Crossroads for $69.

WineSearcher US low is $90.

They must have $hitloads of the stuff in the warehouse. Rocca's Rabaja has been on the shelf there since we had snow on the ground. I bought a few at $69, and then found two more mislabelled at $60 and those also found their way into my cellar.

I feel sorry for the agent who had it 'seized' by the KGBO. Good to know we live in a free-enterprise society instead of a communist dictatorship.
I went over to Crossroads to pick up a couple of the 2010 Diamond Creek Red Rock Terrace and ran into vinoevelo. It's his new home store and he is making sure they perform up to standard!

Best of all, I found some other good buys and a single bottle of Vintage Tunina that was an absolute steal;

1 x 2012 Jermann Vintage Tunina $11.75 bart
1 x 2010 Chateau St Jean Cinq Cepages $60
1 x 2011 Cliff Lede Cab Sauv $62
2 x 2010 Diamond Creek Red Rock Terrace $136

But it was the Vintage Tunina that really made my day.

Umm, the bottles are already taken - but let me know if you'd like one or two (keeping the others........)

No worries B!! Perhaps we will split one some day?

Surprised the Diamond Creek was still on the shelf. If I was brave enough to visit that neighbourhood I would have run over to try to get some!

The guy who manages the Clearance section puts out just a few bottles at a time. It's kind of like playing hide'n seek ... you never know exactly how many bottles he really has. He's been doing that with the 2008 Bruno Rocca Rabaja Barbaresco and 2011 David Arthur Meritaggio and 3 Acre Cabernet for several months now. One week they are out, and then they disappear for a week or two. Then they magically reappear.

If you ask him nicely, he'll more than likely go pull some bottles from the back for you. It all does seem a bit silly thought; you have to know what he has hiding in the back in order to know what to ask for. Thanks for the updates guys! I usually only get to Crossroads these days once I see something here Big Grin ; my inside contact at Crossroads now manages the C'Wood store.

That's my local store up north. What is their name? It used to be Shelley.

Stefanie, say hello for me Dok.

Will do VC.

Great Dok! Sent you an email. Cheers,

Received "Rosco"
Christmas is not the season of giving at the KGBO, but at the Clearance Center the KGBO specialises in wine seizure from its agents. I guess that is a form of giving to oneself. So I dropped in on Wednesday afternoon.

Not much to get my interest, but someone might be interested in the 2012 Domaine Durieu Lucille Avril CdP for $39 - which is about $10 off its original price. But I think that is system-wide, so no need to travel out to Crossroads for this one.
