Picked up a 375 of 1997 Sandeman Porto Vintage Vau for ten buck at Erin Mills & Eglinton. For that price, it's worth a spring fling.

Seems most if not all are knocked down 25%. They include 2009 Lafon Rochet, 2010 De Fieuzel, 2010 Gloria, NV Besseret de Belfon, 2012 Vieux Donjon etc etc etc.
Popped by Laird yesterday on this recommendation. Gloria and Besserat de Bellefon appeared to be gone, but the other three were there. Other notables that were there on discount:
2010 Rol Valentin - $46
2011 Churchill's Vintage Port - $67
Burmeester 10 Year Tawny Port - $20 (a steal!)
2009 Henry of Pelham Cuvee Catherine - $33
2011 Jean Claude Boisset Chambolle Musigny - $51
2010 Filhot 375 - $17
2010 Rieussec 375 - $46
From what I can see all of these are store specific 25% off discounts.

The store at York Mills and Leslie seems to have gotten into the act as well - is this what used to be known as the bin end sale which occurred at the end of every February? Their discount level seems to be 30% - I guess that comes with not being a flagship store.
Notable pickups included:
2012 Le Serre dell'Ornellaia $42
2012 Guidalberto $53
2012 Shafer Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay $47
2011 Domaine du Vieux Telegraphe La Crau $68
2004 La Rioja Alta Ardanza Riserva $28
Stopped by York Mills/Leslie today. All of the above were no longer on the shelves, except Le Serre dell'Ornellaia which was still there and discounted. Other notables were:
2012 Kistler Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast - $60
2009 Saffredi - $67
NV Pommery Brut - $41
1994 Poças Colheita Port - $29
I also took a flyer on 2012 Fazio Aegades Grillo at $12.
Some discounted Rioja in Kitchener (Fairway Rd S)
Cune Gran Reserva 2008 $32
Vina Real Oro Reserva 2009 $25
Cune Gran Reserva 2008 $32
Vina Real Oro Reserva 2009 $25
You just jogged my memory. The Cune Gran Reserva is also on slae for the same price at Laird.

Thanks Wine Canuck, I picked up some of the 2009 Saffredi; still 2 or 3 left if anyone wants them. Cheers,
You'd have to take another 50-75% off those prices to get me even remotely interested.
I might have bit on 2006 monbousquet but I don't see any in inventory. Maybe the 06 cos?
Thought about the Monbousquet, but I didn't buy any of the 2010 when it came out for $69, so why buy a lesser vintage for the same price?
I almost looks like they went on W-S and set all prices at or near W-S low. Not sure there are any steals to be had here, but a few decent wines at fair market.
Not buying anything personally, would need to see a real deal.

If that is how they priced I think that might be a step in the right direction, though I suspect it is only coincidental.
I checked out some of the cheaper bottles and found some that seem to be good value, based on the winesearcher average price, at least (all costs Canadian dollars):
Château Pichon-Longueville-Baron 2006 Vintages $100/Winesearcher $150
Château Langoa-Barton 2006 Vintages $55/Winesearcher $79
Château Lagrange 2006 Vintages $50/Winesearcher $70
Château La Fleur de Gay 2006 Vintages $80/Winesearcher $118
Château La Providence 2006 Vintages $90/Winesearcher $128
Château Pichon-Longueville-Baron 2006 Vintages $100/Winesearcher $150
Château Langoa-Barton 2006 Vintages $55/Winesearcher $79
Château Lagrange 2006 Vintages $50/Winesearcher $70
Château La Fleur de Gay 2006 Vintages $80/Winesearcher $118
Château La Providence 2006 Vintages $90/Winesearcher $128
bman, I would look at W-S low, not W-S Average.

Their strategy seems to be continue to price them high to begin and then reduce to clear later if needed. Lately, it seems instead of a system-wide bin end sale, they've directed individual stores to clear stale inventory as they see fit.
I don't see any must buys on this Bordeaux sale but at least they've lowered the prices to be competitive with US market, which make them "good" deals by LCBO standards.

I phoned. No Monbousquet in the system according to the operator. Cos is in stores only. I just picked up a couple at Royal York. They should have 8 bottles left.
The Cos price seems favorable vis WS low once shipping and any duty is included.

Agreed. Hate to have excuses to open bottles, but maybe we should share cost on another bottle and pop it and see if worthy of keeping?

I'm up for splitting the cost and popping a bottle of 2006 Cos.

This "Sale" is an easy pass for me! Not only are most of the prices still too high but it was my wedding year, so needless to say for those that know me i dont want any wine from the vintage! I actually have a pair of 2006 Palmer if anyone wants them i will do a better price than the LCBO sale!

This may not be the last price drop for the 2006 Palmer. The reason for different SKU numbers on the same product is different suppliers. The cumulative inventory showing for the 2006 Palmer is north of 1200 bottles.
Could nnnn not resist.
Bought 2 of the Cos. Good pricing ($140 Cdn)for that wine. Best price in the US is about $140 US, plus exchange plus the border tax vig.
All bottles at Cooper were bought up by an agent (no bottle limits set, no bottles for lowly consumers), but found some at Manulife Centre store. If you want (need, NEED) a Cos fix, phone 1st then hurry there.

As of yesterday afternoon, there are still a few bottles at Bayview Village. They put it at the back, so you have to ask for it.

I picked up the last 2 bottles at Avenue/Lawrence tonight. Thanks for the heads up guys. Any of the other bottles from the Bordeaux sale worth picking up?

Got 3 last week in Oakville - there were 2 left
Saw some Laurent Perrier Brut Rose knocked down from $100 to $70 at Steeles/Markham. I passed...

I passed on the 2011 because of the weakness of the vintage. Sounds like a mistake. And the SAQ never got the 2010.![]()
LCBO has so much 2011 left, they knocked the price from $56 to $44, which (gasp) makes it WS Low (except for the store in San Diego listing it for $17).
I'd be happy to pick up as many as you want and hold 'em 'til next we meet. I will certainly be getting more, as I think it'll be even better in five years.
I actually picked it up about 3 weeks ago at my local store knocked down to a clearance price of $36. Very good price for a pretty good wine -- wish I'd bought more than 1 bottle.
Still lots left in Ottawa at the $44 price.
Re: the 2011 Chapoutier dit Malakoff -- I've now seen it at multiple stores in Ottawa marked down to $36. A good buy at that price.
2008 Chateau du Chevalier Blanc: $99 down from $125 at a few LCBO stores.
2010 Jonata "Todos" is on sale at the Stittsville store - 20% off. $54.40 now, was $67.95.

Pretty much everything else was a bunch of crap that should be relegated to a land fill.
I was up there this past weekend - it was completely devoid of anything of interest, and with almost zero turnover, much as it has been for several months.
Does anyone know anything about the decline of the clearance store? Is the LCBO doing something different, or is this just a fallow period?

It seems that the clearence centre like they used to have before they remodelled is a thing of the past. There are a few deals from time to time, and good ones, but they seem to be limited and go fast. OTW is more familiar and may be able to share insights. It seems it's not worth a special trip, but can yield the occaisional good find if you're in the area and stop by.

Four when I arrived. None when I left.
I'll have to talk to Sherry to "nudge" them into putting more stuff on sale. It seems like they were just trying to off-load any/all white burgundy, but not much else.
They typically have a few in the glass case on sale, but nothing right now.

2011 Telegraphe CdP was about $60 at Dupont/Davenport.
