The passage of time with a wine can produce exciting outcomes. Fabio Gianetti at La Fornace is noted for producing wines with depth and character. This one is no exception.
Opened three hours before drinking it produced wonderful aromas of earth, minerality and floral touches. I would not have picked this as a 2001. It still carried the appearance of youth. This is a wine that will be delightful for many more years to come but I must say I really liked where it is at right now.
Bold and giving but not overpowering I enjoyed every savouring moment. It has achieved wonderful balance from start to finish
A definite 95+ for me
