1985 Beringer Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Private Reserve
2016 Chateau Pradeaux
2021 Chateau Pradeaux Rosé
2004 Malivoire Courtney Gamay
Curious expectations were rewarded with a great wine. This wine typically drinks so well young they do not get a chance to age in my cellar. I’m looking forward to trying more of their older vintage gamays.
We've been watching Julia on HBO and had a dinner party tonight with some of the wifey's work cohorts. It was particularly successful, and thought to post. Made Julia's boeuf bourguignon from 'Mastering the art....', sautéed asparagus, and roasted baby red potatoes tossed with butter and chives. Had:
An embarrassingly non-descript rose while cooking and guests arriving,
2011 Guigal Gigondas with dinner
2009 Rayne Vigneau with an apple/raspberry tart
I have to say, all the wines were enjoyed!
With high temperatures I drink fresh and sharp: Paltrinieri Lambrusco di Sorbara L Eclisse and 2021 ColleStefano Verdicchio di Matelica
1989 Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin Champagne Brut La Grande Dame
2012 Il poggione bdm( really really nice, drinking well but slightly hot with 14.5 alcohol but doesn’t really detract)
1953 Château Margaux
2019 cremant de liroux rose Antech emotion.
very nice on a warm summer eve
Spring finally arrived in the PNW. Unfortunately, it came in Summer.
2017 Dunham Riesling Lewis Estate Vineyard
2020 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc
Perennially my most consumed wine.
1999 Cote-Rotie from Tardieu-Laurent. Magnificent ripe fruit nose exploded from the bottle during decanting off sediment. Perfectly ready to drink. Rich, wonderful. 96
1989 Château Haut-Brion
A perfect wine
2020 Dragonette Sauvignon Blanc Vogelzang Vineyard
Not quite as hedonistic as the Merry Edwards but more complex. Melons, tropical fruits, and peach all are present. Like a guava-peach with the slightest hint of grass. Very good.
2005 Château Cos d'Estournel
big fan of the 2005 Cos, great to see you drinking well!
2019 Giacomo Mori Chianti
2005 Château Léoville Las Cases
