I agree, Seaquam. Aged chenin can be wonderful. I have some early 2000s somewhere (mostly Huet) as well as Moulin Touchais (which, as you know, is only released after it has some age on it). Thank you for this, as you've inspired me to go rummaging downstairs.

Delicious stuff. OTW opened a bottle of 2005 a few weeks ago and it was excellent.

Thanks for the note. I have a pair of 2005's left. I'll have to put one in the queue.

2019 Castello di Ama Chianti classico- WOW!
2018 Castello di Monsanto CCR- 1 bottle was outstanding the other I would've bet was their base chianti- tasted nothing like the 1st.
1998 Strozzi Milanni- really cool wine, still had life in it.
2019 Felsina Chianti Classico- needs more time
2017 Jolie-Laide Valdiguié Rosé
2014 Domaine Fontaine-Gagnard Chassagne-Montrachet Vieilles Vignes
Lol guys. I’d never ever wear red glitter nail polish.
2017 Sparkman Wilderness, Columbia Valley. Nice Syrah blend with a mix of ripe fruit and old-world characteristics like smoke, garrigue and tar.
2015 Ken Wright Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard
2016 Castelo di Albola Chianti Classico. Very solid QPR. Cherries, leather, dust and damp soil. Seamless with pasta.
2018 Marramieno Inferi Montepulciano.
2011 Sine Qua Non Syrah Dark Blossom
2015 Kistler-Stone Flat Chard
2018 Shafer One Point Five Cab

I must say, g-man, penis wine— magical or not— doesn’t hold any immediate appeal for me, but I guess maybe it grows on you after a while?
Father’s Day dinner with my daughter and wife, thick pan- seared and oven finished prime tenderloin, Caesar salad, garlic bread, and excellent bottle of 2005 Domaine Cristia Chateauneuf du Pape Vieilles Vignes, rich, plush, complex, very long. Fabulous showing, must be at peak by now but will certainly go a few more years. Yum!

2006 Ornellaia last night. Absolutely singing. Entering early stage of its drinking window.

Happy Father’s Day. I loved this wine. Great showing. Had my last bottle years ago

Friends over last night, so made turkey and leek meatloaf with rich mushroom sauce and a bunch of appetizers, with
- NV Lilbert Fils Champagne Perle Grand Cru Cramant Blanc de Blancs, very crisp, dry, apple, mineral, long finish. Excellent aperitif. Will buy more in next few days.
- 2018 Chateau Minuty Cotes de Provence Rosé et Or, a very nice $25-30 Provence Rosé, not special but solid. Problem is that it costs 3 times that. Would never buy again at anywhere near that price. Sheesh!
- 2012 Bergström Pinot Noir Shea Vineyard, top-shelf Willamette Pinot drinking really well right now; cherry, berry, espresso, balanced, long. Singleton bottle, wish I had a few more of these, delicious.
