Saw this post so I looked at my purchases in May. I bought a total of 5 bottles in May and every one of them were Italian whites. Go figure.

June's purchases will be approximately 2 cases...all South African.

2 x 2008 DuMOL Pinot RRV
1 x 2008 DuMOL Syrah RRV

Had to pull the trigger on some of the spring offerings or they were threatening to cut me out of the single vineyards offerings in the fall.
Jouan Chambolle Musigny 2005
JM Boillot Beaune 1er cru 2005
David Duband Vosne Romanee 2005
Rossignol Gevrey Chambertin 2005
6 X 2009 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc
6 X 2007 Merry Edwards Russian River Valley Pinot
6 X 2006 Ramey Claret
Today, I pulled the trigger and bought my all time favourite art work from my good friend and
local artist C.J McCabe. It's called "Quo Vadis" since I know not "whither I goest".

(It also might help me finally get my brother and sister-in-law to visit Canada again).
Hopefully he Vadis me sooneth rather than latereth.

I meant 1990 lynch bages. That's better

Based off your "have you ever fully consumed..." post recently, what will you have other than these over the next +/- 10 days? Enjoy.
June 3 must be one of my lucky days. Going through immigration at the airport earlier tonight, I was asked the lethal question "just how many bottles of wine are you bringing back with you" Answer: 17 - which I figured doomed me to getting duty-raped. Almost jumped when they waved me through with this load:

3 x 2007 Galatrona
3 x 1999 Fuligni Riserva
4 x 2004 Querce Bettina
2 x 2006 Tolaini Picconero
3 x 2006 Massa Vecchia Cabernet Sauvignon
1 x 2006 Massa Vecchia Querciola
1 x 2008 Massa Vecchia Rosato

Tolaini has some interest value. Born in Italy, he made a lot of money in the trucking business in Canada and then bought some vineyards in the area of Gaiole in Tuscany. The estate has some fabulous views of the towers in Sienna. Picconero is his best wine, now in its third vintage and has been improving by leaps and bounds.

Nice haul, otw. Especially on the Querce Bettina. Longboarder brought a bottle to the CDP in Chicago last year and I was able to have a taste. Pretty stunning stuff and ultra-low production.

+1 - wonder where you can find that anymore. Seems to be awesome stuff.

The 2005 Querce Bettina was also on the shelf in Montalcino. I thought it was rather tough and chewy - not nearly as good as the 2004. Left me wondering if they will do it again or if 2004 was a one-hit wonder. (Price was €45-50 for the 2004 and €35 for 2005)
To accompany an appetizer for a dinner party tomorrow night, I've been steered to purchase a bottle of 2002 Veuve Fourny Champagne Millesime Brut Blanc de Blancs. Supposedly a decent bubbly that is under $50.
