How is the Tignanello? This seems to be a common fixture in every LCBO I enter. Priced too high? Things that make you go hmmmm....

LCBO must have bought 75% of the entire Tig production Smile - every store has oodles

I enjoyed the du Tertre more than the Tig on this evening, and it was less than half the price. Both bottles were opened last night, had a glass and then finsihed them off tonite with bbq.
I tasted (spit) well over 50 Spanish wines last night. The finest of the night, and the bottles we enjoyed glasses of with tapas were as follows.

1970 Vega Sicilia Unico
1991 Vega Sicilia Unico
2004 Bodegas Pintia
2004 Bodegas Pingus
1995 Alvaro Palacios L'Ermita
2004 Alvaro Palacios L'Ermita

Very nice.
Your impressions of the Pintia, w+a?

K, you would be remiss if not negligent not to have this wine in your extensive cellar.

Just checked my CT list to confirm and, in fact, I do have a few bottles of this vintage Pintia.
Along with the '05.

Is this one to open now, in your opinion?
Pretty amazing night for me last night at my first Comanderie de Bourdeaux dinner in LA dubbed the "next generation" dinner hosted by Paul Pontallier, Directeur General of Chateau Margaux:

Champagne Le Mesnil Blanc de Blancs Rare Wine Company NV
2008 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux
2005 Pavillon Blanc du Chateau Margaux
2006 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux
2004 Pavillon Rouge du Chateau Margaux
2004 Chateau Margaux Premier Cru
1999 Chateau Margaux Premier Cru
1983 Chateau Margaux Premier Cru
1986 Chateau Climens Barsac Premier Cru

An amazing night of decadent food and wine. The 1983 Margaux was absolutely beautiful and the 1999 was very very good for a young wine with a truly sexy nose!

It was held in downtown Los Angeles at a private club called "The California Club".

How's this bottle showing?

Very well, but I must remind, this is not a Champagne for everyone. Smile

Why is that, w+a? Seriously.
