2016 Canonica a Cerreto Riserva Chianti Classico. We eat a lot of Italian food, and this goes so well with it. Drinking nicely now, but lots of future pleasure. Well priced. Rolled up the truck.

Both outstanding
2018 Alain Voge Cornas Vieilles Vignes ( surprisingly open and great!)
2021 Merry Edwards Sauvignon Blanc
A little more RS than usual, but also more exotically fruited and less obvious oak treatment. I really enjoyed it. Tremendous “fun” and “deliciousness”.

I pulled some nice bottles Saturday night as we hosted the owner of a LWS, her wine club manager and their husbands. Somehow their business survived despite opening at the height of the pandemic in 2020. Having outdoor space and being dog-friendly inside and out surely helped. They did a great job creating a neighborhood hangout in a town that had nothing of the sort. My wife and I have become friends with them and are treated as family when we’re at the shop, which has now added excellent craft cocktails. Sharing is my favorite part of having my relatively modest wine collection.

Nice! I know I’m a broken record on this, but in its price category (and I get it for only $43, which I know is unusually low) the Laherte Freres Rose de Meunier is just a brilliant wine. It sounds like you had a great night with people who really appreciated the wine you served. That’s awesome!

2000 Penfolds Grange - drink up if you have any, probably just past peak. Tasted just slightly tired, but still a fantastic bottle.
2016 Alesia Pinot Noir Santa Cruz Mountains
Not the wine its big brothers are but holy mole, for under $40, this is some serious juice.

Hate when that happens.
2018 Marthe Henry Boillot Saint Romain Combe Bazin white(excellent)
2010 Guigal Hermitage red ( singing -drink up)
2017 Rhys Pinot Noir Bearwallow Vineyard
Exceptional. I had the 2016 a few weeks ago and also loved it. I think Bearwallow is generally my favorite of the less expensive (not Alesia) Rhys bottlings.
2004 Château Lynch-Bages
2004 Château Léoville Las Cases
Relatively recently:
2008 Numanthia, Numanthia....outstanding. On a plateau, if on the upward side of it.
NV Piper-Heidsieck Rose' Sauvage, a tart pucker with this, in a pleasant way
2014 G Brezza barolo....this was a little advanced for its age
2005 Doisy-Vedrines....another outstanding bottle. Wish I had more
2012 Zind-Humbrecht Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Vendange Tardive
Excellent. Sweet without being cloying. Consumed with Cowgirl Creamery Redhawk, another washed rind soft cow’s milk cheese (I forget its name) and a grilled peach. Nice pairing.
