Meat loaf, baked potato and rice.
2003 Franciscan Cab

Like? I haven't tried the 03 yet. Loved the 2002 (better than 00 and 01 IMO)
Spinach and ricotta raviolli with homemade tomato & basil sauce. 2002 Spinetta Ca di Pian Dinner was better than the wine.

We'll be stuffing our pie holes with a grilled prime, dry-aged ribeye, 2" thick.
Linguini with clams will pass through our pie holes tonight
The worst fajitas of my life (and no, I didn't make it)
Ravioli and meatballs.

Where should I not go (or were friends/family responsible)?
I'm trying to eat healthier...so instead of ordering the fried appetizers from Chili's, I got the fajitas. I am not doing that again.
I see, thanks. Chili's isn't the worst of the fast food joints. That being said, the last time I stepped in one was ten years ago in Newington, CT.
Time for an off-line so we can get you some decent food.

Classic BD quote.

"I'm trying to diet, so instead of ordering the onion rings and french fries at Burger King, I just eat Whoppers"
Don't throw away those big clothes just yet.

WTF? You ordered fajitas from Chilis? We have a thousand hold in the wall, authentic Tex-Mex restaurants in our area and you bought fajitas from Chilis?

Oh shut up...it was close by and I didn't feel like cooking. I went in there to eat a burger...
Don't worry Hunter...if I ever need big clothes, I can always ask you for some...

Hunter its called dieter's rationalization. I know people who will eat an eggplant parm hero and wash it down with a diet soda. They will say "I can't drink regular Pepsi because of all that sugar" . Here comes the ice cream sundae.. "oh please use only low fat whip cream"
No use arguing with you "people" but since you didn't know that grilled chicken and bell peppers were better for you than fried cheese, fried chicken wings, and fried eggrolls...then maybe you need to see a dietician.

Their better than fried eggrolls (not much isn't), but those Fajitas are still greese pits and you'll be dieting a long long time eating those. Ever wonder how chicken and Veg. Fajitas in these places taste so good???? It's called gobs of butter and oil that you don't see.
Grill some chicken at home, and stir fry your own veg. in light Olive Oil. You'll save yourself about 600 calories per Fajita and you'll REALLY be eating healthy then.
It didn't taste so good...tasted like someone threw on some paprika and taco seasoning and grilled it. A little grease would have done them a little good...
I'm not "dieting" I am just trying to adjust my ways of eating back to the way it was prior to hanging out on WS where everybody seems to be eating "rich creamy" fatty foods that I once didn't touch until I came here (ie the triple cream cheeses, foie, etc.)

Who are we kidding. Eat those greasey fajitas and drink that wine cause we are dead men anyway. Sooner or later we will either wind up in a pine box or an urn on a mantel.
Chilljs uses tons of sodium on everything. Its like being embalmed
Uh...they don't use sodium to embalm bodies...they use formaldehyde and such.
Please tell me something I don't already know. I do that about nightly...tonight just wasn't the night.quote:

Ya but sodium bloats the body and corpses tend to bloat
This thread is starting to get creepy...

Way to lift the conversation

Triple cream cheeses? YOU eat that stuff. I don't eat rich creamy fatty food, and many here do not as well. You will never find a post of mine eating cream sauce, buttery things ever. It's easy and it's cheap, but it will kill you and pack on pounds by the dozen. I don't like it. Bottom line is, if you want to eat healthy -don't do take out.
Anyone who has ever worked in a restaurant knows the secret ingredient that makes everybody happy: BUTTER. It's melted into almost anything you order. Veggies, Steaks, Fish, even red pasta sauce (not the authentic places, but the chilis of the world, Yes) and...Fajitas.
Hunter on a soap box

And another thing!....

Do you think she finished the fajitas or sent them back?
Greek tonight: chicken slouvaki, roasted lemon potatoes, tzatziki, homous, meslinas, tiny dolmades, and of course Greek salad and pita bread.
NO Greek wine tho. Hate retsina and no nothing about the reds, so we went with Domaine Pesquier Cotes Ventoux and Seghesio Zin, both bargains.
I wanna go dance with my Uncle Antony now.

Lunch....3 days later.
Man, I leave for dinner and come back to quite a ruckus. I adore triple creme brie. And, aren't creamy sauces and tannins a match made in heaven?
Life is short; enjoy it. (P.S. I'm all for the Mediterranean thing, but, then again, I indulge in a bit of everything.)

Hmmm...I eat butter, cream and such and I'm not packing on the pounds.
CoolB, you better get the Rolaids out dude.
Hunter, LOL
Hunter, LOL
Joe, Ya but your arteries are probably as hard as porcelain
I hope not, just joking

How's your CHL?

I was overdoing it there a bit - I do eat that stuff sometimes also, not often though. Point is there are people out there that will order a Filet-O fish, instead of a quarter pounder and think they are saving calories or eating healthier.

It's appropriate conversation for a "Pie Hole Thread"

Just another reason why every body is different and that one diet for one person is not the best for everybody.quote:Originally posted by wineismylife:

Whiz and Hunter,
Last time I had it checked, about 3 months ago, everything was "perfect". I don't remember the exact numbers but I do have them around here someplace. I'm lucky I guess.

Those numbers do nothing to disprove inclusion of the arteries. I know someone who had a 150 CHL and had two clogged arteries. 44 yrs old.. Scary SH**
oh great, amateur medical hour. mine was 170-ish last time, but now I can angst that I'm going to drop. LOL

Hey, the only things I have to go on are the results from my medical exams, bloodwork, other medical tests (i.e. ekg, mri, etc...), the opinion of my medical profesionnals and most importantly how well I feel. If I should die of a massive tomorrow, so be it.
