Yup, 12+" where I am. Shoveled most of it myself -- snowthrowers are for wussies.
18 inches on top of the car this morning. It's now stacked 6 feet high.
Sunny here with high expected in the mid 60s today. Tomorrow it is expected to get into the lower 70s.

turned out we had about 7 inches at the house, but it hit last night at the evening rush hour, causing many issues with commuting. I left my office a bit early, so I had no problem. Driveway guy showed up to plow, and did about 5 houses on the street so he is happy. Sidewalk and walkway fell victim to the snow blower.
Should be back in business tomorrow, in time for the predicted snow fall on Friday night into Saturday.

You guys are getting way more snow than us here this year. Not much more than a few inches on the ground.
Cold: YES.
Snow: Not so much.

I guess that's nice, it will be 77 here today at the beaches. But you're still in Texas. Comes the summer you'll be posting in the "its (sic) F%&ken hot!!!" thread and it will still be in the 70s here.
about another foot on the ground. Cant wait until Spring
A 77+, at 3PM at Malibu Beach in January blows away any January Florida-location 77 anytime regardless of where. Just an opinion but it had to be said...

So long as you stay out of that 57 degree water. The ocean is 71 degrees here now, 5 degrees warmer than your August temp. What's the point of going to the beach if you can't go in the water? Just a fact, but it had to be said.

This Saturday the Maryland State Police host the annual polarbear plunge in the Chesapeake Bay. About 15,000 people show up to jump in the Bay with the water temperature about 34 to raise money for the special olympics. They raise about $3 million.
No, I won't be doing that. I don't believe in torture. My idea of "roughing it" is turning the electric blanket down to "medium".

Of course, vinole. After reading a few of his posts, I've pretty much learned what to expect. You will too. If he does it or goes there, it's the best. You ever been to Cancun? It's a mistake I won't repeat.
Ah, the west coast water is fine if you know what to expect. I do enjoy the ocean off Florida when I'm out there, but I've also been there in the dead of summer and gotten soaked moving between buildings without a drop of rain falling! I also vividly remember using my windshield wipers to scrape off the love bugs while I was driving to the Cape at the end of September.
That said, when I was living in Denver I had co-workers who had just moved from Florida. They couldn't take the dry air and moved back without jobs! It's all a matter of what you're used to.

Normal for here is 21 inches of snow for an entire winter. So far this winter, we're at 55 inches.

Yeah, but you were in sunny FL for part of it.

Yeah, and will be again soon. We missed the December blizzard.
I took the trash out this morning wearing shorts and a t-shirt. Matter of fact, that's my work attire today. Sunny and in the 70s today.

You should have some darn right nice Birthday weather too!!
Florida's only redeeming quality is that on a map of the world, it makes the US look like it's pissing on Cuba.

So did I. It's a balmy 21 right now, but at least the sun is trying to make an appearance today. I forgot what it looked like.

That is part of the plan. The morning after we leave here the forecast is winter storm in the 30s. Can't say I'll be missing that.

It looks like we in the Chicago area are about to be shat upon with a Northeast-style blizzard. Depending on where you live, 14-24 inches! Ugh. My 10-minute work commute is probably going to take at least 25...

I will believe it when it happens...
If it misses us I will be far from unhappy. Even though I live in a townhouse and don't have to shovel, things still become a bit of a pain in the ass with snowstorms.

Believe it.
See that many flights are canceled already and they expect the storm to impact the north east AGAIN.
Should have bought stock in a snow shovel company.

Only a few degrees below freezing, so it isn't that cold, but a thin drizzle has frozen to the ground so that all the roads are a sheet of ice.

Or a pair of crampons.

DFW closed. Roads across much of the country impassable or close to it. Freezing rain here. I'll ned a chisel to open my car to go skating on the roads.
It is 68 here in Tampa at the moment with a high predicted around 79 today. Do you guys think I should wear shorts or jeans to the Dali museum today?

I thought you were in the second worse state in the US--Texas. Turns out your in the worse state--FL. Enjoy your hot, sweaty, humid summer. I think it starts soon.

Depends on how you legs look. Don't wear shorts with tall black socks, like the German tourists.

It's fine in Bermuda though. You'll see businessmen in shorts suits with black knee socks.
