The geeks on that other site are too late. I already declared this the Summer of Rosé. As for a nice Bandol, the best I have found so far is the 2004 Domaine La Suffrene. A TN can be found at the link above.

I'm with Vino Me... this has been the Summer of Rose!

As far as Bandol roses go, Dme. Tempier's rose is quite nice, and that of Terrebrune is an easy runner-up.

I think, however, that Bandol gets smoked by Puglia these days, and the negroamaro & malvasia nera '03 rosato from Rosa del Golfo (imported by Vinifera Imports)is the runaway star.

I also like, especially at just under $10 retail, the Albarossa Rosato (jgwines.com), made of the same constituents. The Rosa del Golfo is more plush and round, whereas the Albarossa is more in the classic tart berry vein, but nontheless well executed.

But if it must be Bandol... oh well, enjoy it anyway!

Friends have promised to bring a Tavel, Costieres de Nimes and Chiaretto, so it's looking like it will be a promising day!
