Based on this discussion, opened an '01 last night for a dinner party. Decanted for 5 hours and drank it over 2 hours. Initially very tight, but blossomed incredibly into dark berries, some spice, peppery undertones, with firm tannins, despite being 10 years old. This one will cellar well for many years. Mostly cab sauvignon with some petit verdot and malbec. Still quite youthful. Matched this with a prime ribeye with a mole ancho dry rub.
