What are you eating and drinking?

Both remain to be determined here but probably a calamari starter with NV Roederer Brut Collection champers, followed by duck confit with a pinot yet to be determined and Nanaimo Bars for dessert with a sauternes.

I've been sick as a dog for the past week so not sure I wanna open special stuff if I can't really appreciate it.

We are going to a friends house with a total of 17 people being there.  I am smoking 3 racks of ribs, got a cheese sampler from Costco along with hummus, veggie tray and wings.  Likely will be a lot of munching throughout the night with no sit down time.  Will bring a red wine, probably pinot noir and a rose.

Butter-poached lobster, roasted chanterelles, pea and radish shoots, sherry vinaigrette

Pan-seared scallops, roasted fennel, chicken skin and tarragon crumb, scallop and chicken jus

2015 Telmo Rodriguez Valdeorras Blanco Branco de Santa Cruz

2008 Dom Perignon

NV Eric Rodez Champagne Grand Cru Cuvée des Crayères

2015 Roche de Bellene Macon La Roche-Vineuse

A delicious night, to say the least.

A bit late to this.  We've been doing dinner at home with friends and kids for the past number of years.  This year I threw together:

- home cured rainbow trout over homeade creme friache with cucumber/dill/fennel/lemon capers; 2015 Vincent Girardin St. Romain VV

- mafalde in a pistachio/mint/black pepper pesto w. chives & parm;  NV Gimmonet Cuis BdB

- Seared Venison loin over mushroom/red wine sauce w. shallot agrodolce; 2000 Dunn HM & 2006 Dunn HM.

and a few more wines as the neighbours showed up over the night.

Feel free to throw something similar together next time we're in town!
