I don't mean this to mimic the "What are you drinking" thread. I'm curious though. There are some hard core tasters out there. So how many different wines did you try this weekend?

I had an even 20.

Plus I sample my stuff as it's brewing which would add two more right now. And nothing beats partially fermented Grenache for breakfast.

I wish that you hadn't asked this.

On Friday night I went out for drinks wit hfriends. Although I was drinking beer most of the night, I still ended up tasting 5 different wines.

Saturday went to a restaurant for my wife's birthday. Took three bottles, bought three more.

Sunday went to the Santa Clara Art & Wine festival. Three of us had two glasses each, and we all tasted each others. (They all sucked.)

That's 17 different wines tasted, without visiting the wine country or going near a store. NOT a typical weekend.

My brother visited this weekend... let's see if I can recall this.... my brain's still a little foggy....

1999 Ravenswood Old Hill Zinfandel

The star of the group was the 1989 Pichon Baron... finally starting to bloom.... what a wine!

The biggest disappointment was the Martinelli Pinot Noir. Subject of a new thread....

We had a few bottles on Friday night also, but quite honestly, I don't remember....
Saturday:

2 bottles of 2003 Marquis Philips Shiraz- dumped them both. Thin, disjointed wines, not worth drinking.

2 bottles of 2001 Martinelli Blue Slide Ridge Pinot Noir- That's more like it.

Sunday:

2001 Martinelli Woolsey Road Chardonnay
1981 Chateau Lafite-Rothschild
1981 Chateau Margaux
2002 Martinelli Jackass Vineyard Zinfandel
1999 Vineland Estates Cabernet Franc Ice Wine- the best wine I've ever had from Canada

Just one more sip.
