I know some forumites with 1000+ bottle cellars who only keep a handful of Champagnes on hand. They prefer to just buy them as they need them. Other forumites I know have over 200 bottles of Champagne in their cellar.
I guess I fall in the middle and have about 50 bottles in my cellar. How many do other forumites keep on hand and why?

We have 40 in the cellar plus a few in the fridge that were recent gifts etc.
I'm actually pretty low right now. 25 bottles (some are magnums). Normally I aim for closer to 60-75+.
59 here. That's not too bad of a count for me.
I have 6-12 at any given time. I wouldn't mind more, but that's enough for just me.
between 30 and 40 of which about half being laid down for aging and half for drinking whenever
Currently 62 for me.
about 20 or so. A few other sparklers, like Prosecco or Cremants.
Around 80, give or take half a dozen.
Just under 70 for me right now. The things I liked to drink a lot of are way harder to get and way more expensive than they used to be. That's about 6-7% of my cellar and I'd prefer it to be around 10%.
There are few food or life questions that Champagne can't solve.
about 60 at the moment - would like a bit more quality "everyday" champagne at the moment, but it is thin on the ground in Ontario...

A dozen or so. Given that Mrs. Haggis can't drink red wine any longer, I need to stock up on Champagne.
Onsite cellar - typically 150-200 bottles, mostly NV
Offsite cellar - currently about 300 bottles
