Hawaii Big Island Restaurants??

Have been fortunate to be invited to the 50th annual National Asphalt Convention at Waikola Village on the Big Island. Any restaurant suggestions?? We've read about Donatoni's at our hotel, the Canoe Club at another and Merriman's. I'd appreciate any suggestions. Two years ago this forum led me and the missus to Laurel in San Diego during the 48 Convention, and the meal was fantastic.

Do not miss going to the Kei Cafe. Although it has been a few years since we were there, this place was awesome. Not a great wine list, but great food and largely local scene.

I can vouch for Merriman's. Probably the best meal I've had on the Big Island.

I expect that this is too late to help, but having just returned from our 15th trip to the Big Island, I would have to say that Allan Wong's grill at The Four Seasons is without a doubt the best restaurant on the Big Island. The Canoe House @ Mauna Lani is 2nd and The Grill @ the Orchid might be third.
