Shoot me an email please. I've been thinking of taking my kid down for an airboat ride and tour of the park. Is that what you did? Have any tips on where to go or what company you used? Thanks.

Heck - just going to Shark Valley and walking the loop is worth the drive down

Pending confirmation today or tomorrow from hotels/condo rentals, we will be in Montreal July 2-9, Ottawa 9-16, Quebec City 16-24, Montreal 24-27.

Cool
Will be in town for your July 2-9 portion.
Looking forward to finally meeting you, Seaquam

Think DoktaP with a mellow West Coast vibe - squared, because he is actually properly retired - and you could pick him out of even the most crowded room!

And wait until you meet Mrs. Seaquam! Cool

Big Grin

I'm most flattered to be compared to the good doctor, so thanks. And there's no doubt that Mrs. S is the embodiment of the term "better half." I am a very fortunate man.

Is it just me, or does this itinerary seem to painstakingly avoid Toronto? Big Grin

Well, not painstakingly, but yes, we did miss Toronto this trip. We were originally just going to spend some time in Quebec this summer, but we love the history, museums, and art-- can easily spend a couple of days in the National Gallery-- in Ottawa, so Mrs. S decided to include it as well.

Perhaps you'd like to meet up in Ottawa, or one of the other cities? On the map they're only a couple of centimetres away from you.

In real life, too. I just stepped over Quebec city on my way across the kitchen.

Working on C now to schedule a long overdue return to Montreal. You need to meet the poet in our house. Wink

As has been our habit over the past dozen years or so, the Ottawa contingent - which is back up to 2! Winner) will be hosting an offline for the Seaquams during their Ottawa visit, probably again at Play or Beckta. In the past we've had as many as 16 at the table, most from Montreal and Toronto. And, as always, all are welcome! Smile

Beautiful downtown Auckland, NZ, from a suite with a terrific view of the harbour. This is an easy city for walking, it's a beautiful sunny warm afternoon, and I've already bought a bottle of Cloudy Bay SB and a Felton Road PN for our room. I am a very happy boy. Smile

FYI, Ronnie and Lady Roots are now in New Plymouth NZ which, according to Google Maps, is a few hours south of Auckland. Probably too far for a day trip but if you are going south, they are great people - I've offlined with them, more than once!

Was in touch with Ronnie earlier. Unfortunately, they're about 5-6 hours away, or we would have gotten together. Hopefully, another time in another place.
