Montreal.

Excellent, but even better in the summer. Wink

Good to hear, we plan to visit Vancouver next August.

Confused

justme, you're glad to hear Montreal is better in the summer because you're planning to visit Vancouver in August?

Are you PWI again? Big Grin

Oh Jeez... No wine lately, so I can't be PWI. I'm not sure what I can blame it on.

We plan on visiting both, so I just got mixed up.

What did ya think?

+1
All they had left when we got to the counter (4 hours of waiting) was brisket. So we both ordered brisket plates (lean and fatty) with potato salad, cole slaw and beans. The potato salad and cole slaw were fantastic, as was the brisket. As we were eating we saw other people eating sausage so I asked if I could get back in line for a couple links, but the guy I asked ran behind the counter and brought them to our table for free. The sausage was otherworldly. Bar none the best sausage I've ever had. I only used one of the sauces for the brisket, the darkest of the 3, and it complimented the meat well.

If you have nothing else to do on a Saturday, I feel the wait warranted the meal. If you only want to try the brisket, you can probably wait till 1 or so to get in line, but if you're after ribs/pulled pork/turkey, you'll need to get in line around 8:30.

It's a quick trip up to Owen Sound to see my parents for weekend so unfortunately I won't be able to set up any offlines. I look forward to meeting you and seeing some others again on another visit (unless any of you are up on Georgian Bay this weekend!)

Believe it or not, I have a place in Clarksburg and will be going up tomorrow and staying until Sunday. Not much time and I'm sure you want to be with your folks, but I'm less that 45 minutes from you. Maybe we can meet for a coffee or something. Have you been to Ted's roadside diner? Quite the e clectic spot.

Very cool that you guys may get a chance to meet up. Speaking of eclectic spots, have you ever had a chance to visit Coffin Ridge Winery?

No, not Coffin Ridge, but we know the owners of Georgian Hills Vineyard and have enjoyed a few of their white wines. Still young vines, but the area appears conducive for a few white varietals.

I don't have a car although I'm sure something could be worked out. You would be more than welcome to come by the house here. Bring the better half as well. The more the merrier!

Having had a glass with both of you fine gentlemen, I can assure you you that you would enjoy each others company.

Dok's better half is too good for most of us! Bow

A BIG +1 on that...
south florida.
went to a ridiculously expensive place picked by friends in Palm Beach. Bucchan. $20 for a glass of Prosecco, that sells retail for $14 per bottle?
Food was ok, noise level was silly loud.
It is a happening place, but no way I would return. (Although the sexy waitresses and bar staff were terrific looking)

Interesting. I would not think of Houston but it has been awhile since my last visit. Where else is in the top 10? Might be a good thread on its own.......

Would be a good thread.

Houston is such a diverse and international city with over 100 languages now spoken in the city, and one of the youngest cities in America. This combination along with such a healthy economy drive their restaurant options and styles of offerings.

Houston is easily a top 10 food city.

You got screwed. Most of PB joints are over priced.
