I second all those L's.

I think the Turnbull '04 is not up to snuff. Have you tried it Don? It is high alcohol and odd.

The Napanook '04 is nearly the same wine as the Dominus at twice the price.

All three Hess Cabs deserve better ratings than given, in my opinion.

I have tried it - and found it neither hot nor odd as you put it. I actually found the fruit to be very pure, nice spice notes and the tannins well integrated. And for the price, IMO, very tough to beat and will benefit from a couple years of rest.

I am interested in the '04 Mondavi Oakville, however, and would love to see a TN from someone who has tried it.

At no time was the Drinkward released at $30. Thay was a typo by WS. The mailer price was $50, and the few stores that carried it shortly after release sold it for $60.

Several good ones already mentioned but here is another one;

04 Trespass. Soon to be released. Best ever Cab for them according to their owner. I have a tasting in 2 weeks. 3 pack for $ 174.

tried it against their 02 cab, 03 cab, and 04 cab franc, and by my taste (and everyone else tasting) it was hands down noticably better than the others (which were also very good wines). I say buy 'em if you can.

While I don't post TNs, I have tried the 04 oakville and I am pretty sure I'll be back for more. If you like the 04 napa I believe you might like the oakville a bit more. It a has a little more of everything (in a good way). What I mean is that it is a bit more complex ( I noticed more tea and floral notes), the finish is a bit fuller (the napa seemed to cut short at a certain point, possibly the mid-palate?) and also a bit sweeter, which some might not like but I think it is distinctively Napa. I enjoyed it, and at the costco price of 33.99 it was a great buy.

Don't suppose you know the item number...?

Dave, I posted this in the Costco Alert. Sunnyvale location, Item #121049, $32.99.
You'd better get there fast because they will soon disappear.

Excellent. Thanks for the note!

Lizardking's "non-TN" is spot on. The 04 Mondavi Oakville is a nice, plush experience... comfort wine? Got mine from Costco in San Juan Capistrano.

Also bought quite a few of the Mondavi Reserves; yet to try but understand that most of the grapes were sourced from To Kalon. At $89 and 95 pts., probably a good value compared to the other high flyers - especially if it represents a further step up from the already awesome Oakville bottling.
