Ask a cabbie.

This is the "Chinatown" area of town. It's on Spring Mountain Rd. Mostly Chinese food, with a lot of Korean and Vietnamese restaurants springing up all over. Mostly really good, authentic and cheap. My office is about two blocks north of the area, so I eat down there all the time. No Japanese restaurants, though.

As an aside, don't forget about Lotus of Siam for Thai if you like that cuisine. It's really good. I go there frequently for lunch. It's in the Commercial Center on East Sahara, about a mile east of the Strip. There's another Thai place in the same center called Komol that is also really popular with the Thai community. My buddy is half Thai, and he says their food is more like what his mom cooks. A little more "down-home," I guess. I forget there's a really good Japanese restaurant in that center as well, called Tokyo (how original).

I'd stick with Osaka for off Strip Japanese though. Been there a zillion times, and never disappointed. It usually wins the annual "Best of" readers poll award from the local newspaper, so it's popular with the locals.

Have fun in Vegas.

i was quite surprised at all the Chinese suggestions when asked for Japanese

So far, you did nothing but belittle others' suggestions for entirely narcissistic reasons. This leads me to believe you are not interested in the opinions, and you're just showing off in front of good folks of WS. I've noticed this disposition in your posts before. How old are you? 23, 24? Roll Eyes
You should visit the trumpet site, they are all about your age there.
