Anwar, saw some at Binnys the other day. Not really familiar with Kracher. It looks like it might be a dessert white?

Would it be an alternative for a Sauternes? Bigger question, would it go well with Creme Brulee (wife's favorite)?

These are "white" Astrian dessert wines. They are definitely sweet and in general as the number increases, the wine becomes thicker. As a side note, these generally retail around $60. Binny's has been closing them out around $30 for about a month, but $24...
I believe they would go well with Creme Brulee, and may suggest the #7, it is a blend of Chradonnay and Welschriesling. Though, others may have better suggestions.

I purchased '98 13,11,10 for ~$35 in May. This is the price for 2001's in Vienna. The US mark up is 100%.
So you did get an excellent value.
These wines are TBA, botyrtised wines, but taste nothing like Sauternes. Depending on acidity they are not dissimilar to German TBA or Tokaji. Flavor profile is apricot/ peach
