Agree with w+a. It's the only place my wife will get straps for her PAM111 from. They do stellar leather straps but have no idea about other fabrics. If you do get a leather one, do a custom bespoke one and not one of their new ready made. The bespoke is much more special for very little extra.

Also look at their new small leather goods line. Phenomenal quality for exceptionally cheap. I"ve talked a lot to the owner and these prices are for the short term while they ramp up and get comfortable with the space.

A few weeks ago I received a very special timepiece from my dad. I am the 4th person to have the watch. It was bought in 1945 by my great grandfather. The only condition as a result of this generous gift is to keep it in good condition and give it to my nephew when I become an old man. It is a Vacheron Constantin gold watch. It is on the small side but that is ok since it is a true family heirloom. I hope to wear it occasionally for many years to come. Thanks Dad.

Not my area of expertise.

I have seen an IWC and Eterna at auction recently, but didn’t research much about them. I do know the R.E.M.E. repaired so many without any regard to manufacturer so many have parts interchanged from different producers as standard protocol. The goal was just to get them back working.

Yes that is spot on which is why he's looking for a good dealer or broker that would help him find something in good condition. I think he's primarily looking for an Omega. Any suggestions on where to look?

Damn I love the look and the finish is great !

One thing about Panerai, multiple straps are just part of ownership! I until recently owned 3 ( now 2) Panerai watches and had 11 straps.

Anybody have any knowledge about Tourbillon watches by a local Toronto watchmaker named Scott Wilk? I stopped at his booth at the One of a Kind show and saw a beautiful limited edition (30) 41mm GMT Tourbillon for a very good price. He uses both Swiss and Chinese movements and his reviews are scarce but favourable. I would like to pull the trigger but want to do my due diligence. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks bro. I have contacted the watch maker and await his response. I have a few questions for Scott before buying. It felt great on my wrist and the 44mm was just too big for my liking.

I am still looking for that "fine" (or modestly so) watch.  In other words, something in my price range (under $3000) and "elegant."  The latter, of course is completely subjective.  I was looking at Junghans.  Now, I'm leaning heavily towards Baume and Mercier.  There are a couple of watches I like the looks of: Classima (10332) and Clifton (10436).  Does anyone have any experience with this watchmaker?

But I do love AL&S as a spectator.

Haggis, good morning.

If you are still looking, you might take a look at the Christopher Ward 595. It appears to be in the style you are looking at. The ETA hand wound movement is solid and CW is a customer driven firm. The 595 reference is the thickness on the watch, 5.95mm which is very thin.

I own a CW sport watch that while I rarely wear, it has outperformed its cost without debate.

Make sure you wear your Panerai the next time you are in Newport Beach! 

It is nuts. I noticed several from our table at dinner. After dinner we went to the outdoor area for drinks and to enjoy the weather. It was like a Panerai watch club plus Ferragamo shoes and belt required club. 

I then took a quick Uber back to my hotel. Panerai watches everywhere. Who knew...
