I've tried one on. It did less than nothing for me.
I have also tried on a couple and seen maybe 2-3 in person. I think they are everything I don’t like in watches rolled into one.
I am sure there are many styles I have never seen, but not my style in the least.
Agree with w+a. They are the lamborghini veneno of watches.

Stunning and while it's a little odd from afar when it's on your wrist it just works. Exceptionally comfortable.

I have always admired this watch. The great Jack Forster sat next to me recently on a flight and was wearing the VC American 1921.
Chefs are very often serious watch collectors. Eric Ripert owns this timepiece along with many others. He actually wears his 1921 while cooking at Le Bernardin.
I have bought a couple of watches recently and not sure I posted.
Bought the 100th anniversary Cartier Tank MC 1904 movement and also bought the 40th anniversary Cartier de Santos ( large) and both have found a place within my normal rotation.

Beautiful watch Rob. I can see how the offset hour markers would line up with the eye very well for left hand wearers. Interesting that the second hand is at a different angle than the main dial, but somehow even looks more "right".

I've always been attracted to those square Cartier watches with the roman numerals. Though never felt they fit my style for some reason. Beautiful pieces sir.

Tonight is a combination celebration of a new job I recently accepted and hitting a local jiujitsu fight night tournament with a few dozen matches scheduled. The watch and the jiujitsu feel like a bit of an incongruity, but tonight is a celebration so I don't really care.

Just spent 3 days in Zurich. Finally succumbed to the endless temptation and bought an everyday Longine 45197744 in rose gold with a brown Jaeger alligator strap. I loved the classic look of this watch and don’t feel guilty in the least.

I was recently in Europe and Longines is advertising like crazy and starting to sponsor sporting events again.
I love the Breguet like hands. The style has been around since 1783 for a reason. Your new timepiece also has some German influences on the dial. Very nice!
I am itching to buy an IWC Portuguese Chronograph...but just read a story that a guy on the beach in Spain was robbed of his Richard Mille RM 50-03 Tourbillon Split second chronograph.
Had to Google the watch...IMO what an ugly timepiece. His watches are so expensive and not attractive at all. This one is apparently worth $1.3M. Anyone like the looks of RM watches?

Agree, I think the RMs are hideous myself. Have never understood the appeal.

It's a fake. I saw him on the 504 with his lunch in a no frills bag. On his way to the interview.

Old Man, Illinois Watch Co. was a serious pocket watch company for the railroad firms after the Civil War. After the Great Depression they worked closely with Hamilton, made movements for Hamilton and I think were the exclusive movement manufacturer for all of the Hamilton rectangle timepieces.
