At Pat's... the original Philly cheesesteak, it's the correct way to order if you want a cheesesteak w/ onions and cheese whiz (the original way). If you want provolone without onions, you'd say "Provolone without". Get it?

Being "the original" doesn't make it better! Razz John's Cheesesteaks all the way baby! With sharp provolone!

OK, in the context of the other posts, I can figure out what the R and E must stand for, but I'm completely stumped by the D. What IS it? Dilated? Drafty? Donut? Dirty? Dreckish? What??

Dinner tonight is mainly salmon and carmelized onion risotto (leftover grilled Sockeye from last night), '04 Tohu Sauv Blanc.

Ok, I think you're joking. But, I'll bite. It's not analog, it's...

A combo plate from the local Italian joint. (Nasty weather here tonight. We're staying in.) Would someone please tell me where in Dallas one can get a decent Philly cheesesteak? I'm dying for one. Smile

What are you drinking?

I've been craving a steak all week. Tonight, grilled (it hasn't rained for over a week here! Smile ) strip loins, Uruguayan free-range beef, with roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus, Ceasar salad, and a bottle of '89 Grand Puy Lacoste.

I can't tell from this post who is drinking the Grand Puy Lacoste, futronic or Seaquam? Whoever is drinking it, will you please post a note. I've got 3 sleeping and am dying to know how it's doing. Thanks in advance.

Friday, grilled NY strips while the weather is still clear and cold, and a couple of good Aussie reds-- '02 Shotfire Ridge Quartage (losing intensity quite quickly, time to drink these up), and '01 Rosemount Traditional (drinking well, excellent wine, about 92-3 pts).

Last night, ordered in Szechuan: General Tao's chicken, fresh prawns with assorted vegetables, hot & sour soup, and washed it down with the real king of beers-- Unibroue Maudite. Great match, great beer.

It appears that SOMEONE is having alot of chicken lately...could the origin of such chickens be from...well...uhum...shall we say...the Pacific Northwest, perhaps? Razz

Ahhh ..Hunter it wasn't a colon exam. The doc does the rubber glove thing to feel the prostate. I suspect you have never had this done. It's quite refreshing. NOT!

Well, if that doc had REALLY long fingers you might've gotten a 2-fer. And I think that given the threads flying around here this weekend, it was entirely appropriate for you to share that part of your exam.
A wonderful meal last night at Beckta, one of our local restaurant stars:

-Duck Confit Crêpe with Scallion, Walnuts, Mascarpone, Cape Goose Berry, and Smoked Paprika-Vanilla “Ketchup”

-“AAA” Highriver Beef Tenderloin, chimichurri Basted, Sweet Onion and Yukon Gold Rosti, Roasted Sweet Parsnip, Haricots Verts and Port Macerated Shallot Jus

-a plate of artisanal cheeses, and

-a Valrhona Chocolate Pyramid wiht toasted Hazelnut and Cocoa Butter “Stucco”, White Chocolate Anglaise and Raspberry Coulis

And some nice wines, bien sur!

And tonight: king crab legs! Cool

Tomorrow night - cheese sandwiches, I think.... Roll Eyes

My brother is an offling. Last night he turned himself into Satan.

He wasn't invited to dinner, but last night we had roasted Sockeye salmon fillets with mushrooms, mild Morrocan-style rice pilau, sautéd green beans, and a bottle of '02 Sea Smoke PN Botella (drinking better than the last time I had it).
