I was doing a search for something completely different, and ran across this thread:

Fourth Annual Italian Offline

I'm mostly posting this as a holiday gift to those who attended, and as a dig to those who didn't! Razz

It's extremely long, but reading through it, I recalled an incredible evening of wine, food, fellowship and debauchery.

My offline activities have mellowed over the years, but I'm wondering if it's time to put another Epic Italian Offline together?

Original Post
And... as a bonus, the Flickr album I posted way back then is still alive?!?! There may be other picture links in this epic thread, but I didn't catch them when perusing it.

Anyone interested in seeing what:

Gentlemanfarmer, futronic, just a slosh, indybob, KSC02, Een (and spouse), DoktaP, wine+art, VT2IT (and spouse), grossie, wineismylife, PURPLE, Longboarder, Stefania Wine, Otis Abdul (and Lady Otis), TLV (and Mrs. TLV), steve8 and planowino looked like almost 10 years ago...

Would be grand. I'll keep an eye on this thread to gauge interest, and will take it from there. Based on the time it took to finally get that thing put together, it'll take at least a few months. Eek

I originally posted my interest, but in reading the 2008 thread wasn't sure if "outsiders" would be welcome. Wink

No such thing as an outsider. Cool

Several were in Philly. Who was the medical student that always helped us organize? I think LB still stays in touch.

That would be Daniel Fulton.

Since when do you have Italian? Razz

I may have a young cellar, but it speaks Italian almost as well as English! Smile

Julie, isn't that the Bucket List 4.0 theme?! Cool

Yes, it's been ten years...our wedding was the reason Domino and I couldn't attend the first event!

Count us as interested.

Yes, Shane, it sure is. Never too many Italian offlines!
A real blast to the past and memories seeing the photos. Thanks for sharing, PH.

How could I miss an epic night like this?

IN
Count me in. One of the best nights I can remember. If my memory serves me correctly there were no flawed bottles. A far cry from Philly Brunello offline the year before where we were hard pressed to find a single bottle not flawed.

Thanks for posting that, PH. I always enjoy being able to virtually meet forumites that I've not yet had the pleasure of meeting in person. And I truly enjoyed your captions on the photos!
We would be interested depending on timing/ availability of babysitters. Those pesky kids are offline killers!
I missed this, nice to put a face to some of the famous forumites. I’d love to make it to the next one if at all possible.
