Can't believe I'm able to contribute to a cooking forum. My mother would be floored....

Was going to whip up a batch of brownies out of a box and at the last minute I replaced the called 1/4c of water with some tawny port. I also took out about an 1/8c of the oil and replaced with port. They turned out fantastic with an interesting subtle cherry flavor. Went well with vanilla ice cream and.... more port of course!

Your creativity in using tawny port instead of water almost makes up for making brownies out of a box. Razz

Next time, try Kahlua in the brownie recipe instead of water. Then, enjoy the brownie with more Kahlua (and cream), or tawny port!

Hoping to meet you at an offline sometime. Smile

Bourbon soaked raisins in bread pudding. Cool
Last night I hand-fried a small stack of cut up 2 day-old tortillas, very lightly salted them and then drizzled on top some medium maple syrup, cinnamon, toasted pecans and the odd dollup of whipped creme fraiche around. Talk about happiness at the table...
