I'm a newcomer to the joys of wine and received a gift from my parents (who do not drink wine); most of it is junk that they've been gifted with over the last 20 or so years but there's one that's particularly old and I cannot find information anywhere about it. I'm wondering (1) if it's still drinkable and (2) if it's something good enough to save for a special occasion or if it's more... pedestrian.
So: can anyone tell me about a 1978 Chateau Le Sire de Camin (Haut-Medoc)?
At very least, the title sounds impressive.

1978 was a good Bordeaux year, but your wine is of lesser ageability. It is not worth anything($10-20) to resell. I'd open it during the holidays. Open & drink without decanting. If there is anything left, it will fade quickly. Use both a corkscrew & an Ah-So together(SLOWLY) as the cork may crumble or push in. Bring a backup bottle.
