Hey DnVD - that Matua Valley estate was excellent for the price. Here's my TN:

Nice fruit forward nose of cherry, with earthy characteristics. The entry has these flavours, nice acidity and interesting flavours like orange and celery salt. Plush texture.

90 points. Excellent QPR in BC where finding a decent $30 dollar pinot is akin to the quest for the grail.

Last night Surf and Turf (rib eyes and king crab were on a massive sale). Shelled the crab and sauteed in garlic butter and placed on top of the grilled steaks. Served with baby greens salad, roasted root veggies (parsnip and beet) and white asparagus.

Paired with 2005 Famiglia Bianchi Cab (Chile). Good with the meal with that interesting leafy, herbal character that I've noted in a lot of Chilean cabs. Sometimes those flavours seem to overwhelm but it was nicely balanced in this one.
A client and SO of Mrs duckfaninmt are coming over for - what else, when you're married to an Aussie? Wink - BBQ rack of lamb and lamb chops, both marinated for several hours in garlic, teriyaki sauce, and rosemary. Grilled vegetables are on the menu as well. Pouring three different Shiraz's tonight:

2005 Tatiarra Caravan of Dreams
2002 Barossa Valley Estates E & E Black Pepper
2005 Mollydooker Carnival of Love
