On short 4 day cruise, most notable wines were:

2013 Treasure Hunter Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Chloe's Song

Hey you forgot one. I just added it above: my $17.99 blind red - the 2013 Treasure Hunter Wines Cab Sauv. 😜

Big Cab Tasting at LWS last Saturday

2014 Silver Oak Alexander Valley - green, acidic and disjointed. never like these

2015 Sullivan Rutherford cab - a bit green as well

2013 Corliss Columbia Valley red - surprisingly complex with good structure

2015 Toybox Napa Valley - small production cab added at last second. Nice surprise with lots of fruit and firm tannins. Would be great with a grilled ribeye and a salad. My #3

2016 Lewis Napa valley - great nose, lots of fruit but lacking complexity

2015 Meyer Vineyard (by Hestan) Napa valley - lots of fruit, good structure and big tannins. Destined for greatness but could use some time My #2

2014 Rombauer Napa Valley Diamond Selection - overly sweet and oaky other people in attendance liked it a lot more than we did

2016 Pappillon CA Blend - unremarkable but easy to drink, would be a crowd favorite in the non-wine geek crowd

2016 Chappellet Napa Valley Signature Cab - a beautiful wine that hits everything i love about Napa cabs, lush fruit/mouthfeel, just a hint of oak/vanilla, complexity, soft tannins that are present but not extreme making it a great early drinker. This was the 3rd time I'd had it (also at winery 2 weeks ago and again last Friday night). Hasnt been scored by WS yet but Id throw a 94 on it. I think it will show up on the WS Top 100 next year at least in top 20. Easily our #1, I love this wine as it reminds me of the wines I first loved in the mid 90's like Caymus which leads me to........

2016 Caymus Napa Valley - like drinking overly sweet liquid jelly with no structure and tons of vanilla. Poured most of it out. Nothing like the wine I first fell for
