Some of the reported effects of the virus are a loss of smell and in some cases taste. I haven't had the virus so I do not have any first hand knowledge but know what doctors, family and friends have told me.

I'm wondering if anyone on the board has experienced these symptoms and if so, how it has changed your ability to enjoy wine. I suppose it could be especially devastating on the on the career of a professional taster/critic. Has anyone read or heard of a critic that has experienced these symptoms?

I lost my senses of taste and smell for about a month after contracting Covid (Nov. -Dec 2021).  Hit right before Thanksgiving which really sucked.  Eventually both came back and I feel like I am back to how I was pre-Covid.  I won't claim to have the nose or palate of a critic (my wife has a much better nose than I do).
