Haven't seen it, but I am not surprised.  Florida has its more than fair share of morons and idiots.

I went to Publix for the first time since this all started and it was very discomforting being amongst so many people.  I tried to keep my distance, but still, there were people everywhere.  The interesting part was looking at how many elderly people there were, and thinking that if the virus infects them, they are really going to be in trouble.

Your grocery stores haven't implemented a special time for seniors only? Up here the first hour upon opening is reserved for them. Same in Massachusetts, at least in the area my parents live in.

Senior hours just gives people, who should be staying home, a chance to pick up viruses that others have left behind. Also seniors can have the virus and not yet have symptoms and act as carriers. My original advice: 60 and up only as necessary as little as possible, 70 and up only for an emergency, 80 and over never.

They have implemented senior-only times for the stores.  But remember, I'm living in Florida, where we have tons of the elderly.  If they all went to the grocery store only during the senior only hour, the place would be jammed.

Town of jupiter, where I live, just shut down the boat ramps and the jupiter sandbar. Everyone who was at the beach had moved there.

Millions of people are out of work and today the baby-in-chief was telling everyone how much money being president has cost him. I kid you not.

Senator Rand Paul has tested positive and says that he has no symptoms.  So, if he has no symptoms, how come he got tested? Is this one of the many privileges one gets as a US Senator?

probably since they vote on the nations issues.  Also, he had part of a lung removed recently, so I would say he is at risk.

First of all this idiot after testing was still walking around like everything was normal. That includes lunches and meetings with fellow senators and even time in the senator's gym--which I don't even understand why it was still open--including taking laps in the pool.

A hypocrite and a pig. No surprise Republicans have taken this less seriously, mirroring the Great Leader's approach to this for weeks. While Fox state news did everything they could to promote these untruths Which is especially alarming because the median age of their viewers is 65. So while you're doing everything to cover up the president's inability to take this issue seriously you're also making a major at-risk group complacent. Now of course that the president appears to have woken up Fox is is trying to spin the narrative that he was always on top this crisis. Baloney.

The fact that congress still feels the need to hold in person debates and votes is a joke. Parliament re-convening in Canada on Tuesday to pass a stimulus package, but query why these jackasses all need to get in a room. Board meetings, shareholder meetings etc all are being held remotely  or via video, but to maintain “the integrity of governmental institutions (hahahahaha)” we need in person debates and votes.   Governmental logic.

According to the Johns Hopkin's Dashboard, there's 367,000 cases worldwide, and the US has 41,000, so that's much less than half.  But the trend for the US is looking terrible.  We are quickly about to overtake Italy and become the #2 country in the world, and we will soon thereafter become the #1.  I've been joking about it before, but it really is no laughing matter.  People, a lot and lot of people, are going to die in this country soon.  We can pray that warm weather will help stop the spread, we can pray that our scientists figure out an effective treatment that actually works, or we can just pray.

CA has a state wide stay at home order. San Diego did a lousy job of enforcing it.

You have got to me kidding me. This is an official government document from the CDC. FWIW the flip side just has the standard warnings about washing hands, social distancing etc. As the old folks used to say, the nerve!

The company I work for got an RFQ for three ventilator parts and we started working on the bid today. My part was getting quotes for several types of aluminum and stainless bar with Swiss Precision or ground/polished tolerances. I also worked on securing commitments for quick turnaround for the anodizing coating on two of them should we be awarded the business. We’ve committed to dedicating several machines to run these nonstop. It felt good to work on something that could potentially help a lot of people. I’ve been in a coasting along, or “zero fucks to give” mode for a while - I needed this, selfishly.

I am losing my mind. I actually want to go back to work and I don't even think I can go back in June. I can see a few months of social distance to flatten the curve but up to 12-18 months?

Don't worry the Dear Leader wants you back at work next week.

We are getting a lot more data and will know a lot more in the next week.  I believe there are 250,000 tests administered in the US.  It also appears that using hydroxychloroquine along with Z-packs is very effective at treating severe cases which dramatically help the medical community in managing the pandemic.  

We shall see soon, but I would expect that in the next few weeks we can move start moving back towards more activity in the business community.  It may be a slow process of everyone being  back in the offices, but hopefully people can start being more productive and less bored.

It MAY do something but read the above article, it's certainly not a cure-all or even potentially much of a cure.

Good man.  What are your lead times, after award, for submittals/approval, material procurement, production and delivery?

Probably 3-5 weeks, pushing it. That doesn’t include PPAP/sample approval since I don’t know the requirement. Two parts have an outside operation;  one doesn’t. We don’t normally launch new parts that fast. Should have formal quotes to the prospective customer tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

From what I have read, and I am not a doctor either, the response to the drug cocktail is fairly quick so it would be pretty easy to see if it is working.  I would also think that they have a decent idea of how the virus can affect the patient without the drugs.  My understanding is the current methodology is a 5 day treatment with the drugs and the patient has recovered.

Its a terrible thing to miss Jeopardy.  The things that we have to suffer to get through this crisis!

arghh.  It may be history to you, "The Old Man", but LBJ said this shortly before my brother lost his student deferment (by graduating from college) and nearly got drafted and sent to Vietnam. 

In this case, the light at the end of the tunnel occurs when the doctor looks in one of President Trump's ears with the otoscope and can see clear through to the other ear.

Though I wasn't that old when I stated using this moniker about 20 years ago, I was in the last lottery draft. My number was 327 (the higher the better.) Though by then they weren't really calling anyone up anymore. My mother was going to have me move to Canada!
