Finally we are under a mandatory wearing in all public places.  Was out for happy hour and we were the only ones wearing masks and social distancing.  One 'friend' walked up to us within 2 feet to talk, had to ask her to move and then put on our masks while eating at table.   Inside bar had groups of 5-6, of course '1' apart, and no masks.  Shall not return until 2025

FROM CNN

The US states of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut will require visitors from Covid-19 hotspots elsewhere in the country to quarantine for 14 days, officials have said.

The governors of the three north-eastern states - once coronavirus hotspots themselves - announced the joint travel advisory today.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo said he did not want visitors from other states bringing Covid-19 in with them, because "we worked very hard to get the viral transmission down".

The quarantine rule will apply to visitors from states where 10% of the population is infected with Covid-19 on a seven-day rolling average, Mr Cuomo said.

Nine states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Washington, Utah and Texas..

The quarantine will come into effect on Thursday.

Florida banned them, now they ban us.  Only Fair!!

My wife and I were going to meet a former coworker and his girlfriend on the patio of a local brewpub tonight. I explained to him last week that we’re being cautious and only socializing in small groups of friends we know well. An hour ago he texts me to say that we’ll be a group of five because a buddy of his might join. I backed out. Gotta admit I’m a little pissed at him.

should be, be a responsible adult.  give your friends a heads up beforehand and let them decide and not at the  last minute.

I hate being right...

Great to watch the idiots at the commission meeting complaining.  Sounded like NapaCat's friends.  Comment such as ' Blocking God's breathing apparatus' .    Palm Beach County commissioners were harangued by residents who accused them of obeying the devil, imposing a communist dictatorship and dishonoring the American flag.

The Governor of NJ has announced that anyone traveling into NJ from some other state with a large outbreak of the virus must quarantine for 14 days.

President Trump just got back from Arizona, which is having a surge in virus, and which would be covered by the NJ Governor's ban

President Trump is traveling shortly to NJ, and will not obey the Governor's quarantine order.

I guess the President is above the law after all.

Well...as a lawyer you know that governors' restrictions and bans are not laws. He already proved he's above the law by not responding to subpoenas.

Does It stike anyone odd, that's the awful Mexican beer Corona, which has been struggling because of its name, is running their normal happy summer commercial with lots of people gathering at beaches, picnics and parks?

What other type of ad campaign should they run?  Kinda tough to run something more serious and in the present, when your brand name is already in the dumper.

Considering how many numbskulls flocked to beaches, pools, parks, indoor gatherings, bars, etc. when restrictions eased in many areas, there’s definitely a pent-up demand for harkening back to the “good days”.  Corona has never been a beer aficionado’s type of beer, for sitting around a fire and chewing the fat with buddies.  Summertime/party time is it’s sweet spot.

The NJ constitution, and that of many other states, confers powers upon governor to enact certain restrictions, rules, etc.  Are they laws? Well, if you violate them there is a penalty.  I suppose it depends on what the meaning of "law" is.

Almost 9000 new cases in Florida reported today.  The previous record, from like two days ago, was 5500.  They are shutting down the bars in the State (ya think?), but the damage is already done.  This virus is out of control in Florida.

Think anyone is going to want to go to the RNC Convention in Jacksonville in August?

Napacat is probably already camped out, rubbing his brisket in anticipation.

I'm having concerns at the office.  Our managing partner wanders around mask-less all day.  One of the senior department heads regularly pulls his mask down, or pulls it below his nose when in close contact with staff and clients.  I am a former senior manager in this company but am in an ancillary position now.  Not sure how to address the issue.  Our HR department is feckless.  All it takes is one a$$#ol€ to kill my ass.

Perhaps report to local authorities? Post pictures of intubation?

Get to work early.  Put up signs on all the doors saying that one must wear a mask at all times.   Leave a note on the desks of these offenders...typed and anonymous... saying that employees are nervous about their failure to wear masks and someone may report them to the Maryland occupational and safety department.
