My Father Flor de las Antillas (2012). This was Cigar Aficionado's cigar of the year in 2012, giving it 96pts. For those who follow the blog "Halfwheel" will know that they gave this 82pts. Quite a disparity!
For me, this is a good cigar. Spicy, with loads of pepper and licorice on the front end. After the first half, it heats up too much for my liking, but that's just my taste. Very loose draw. Amazingly even burn, but any well-made cigar should be so.
This is NOT a 96pt stick. No way, but it is also not as mediocre as others suggest. I have a few more of these, but will likely give them away or trade. 88pts

Spot on review. This stick has the traditional Pepin pepper bite and is a better than average mass market stick, but CA's praise was a little over the top.

haggis, thanks for the note.
Like wine, I think there is always variation, and more so I have found with cigars. I have often had several cigars from a box that were excellent, then the next one from the same box disappoints.
Over the long weekend....
My Father LE 2011
Liga Privada #9 Double Corona
RyJ LE 2009 "Duke"....one of the top 3 cigars of the year for me.

any recommendations are a nice rich creamy smoke that smells nice and doesnt burn harsh for under 10$ a stick (non NY because ny adds an extra 10$ in taxes)?
Victor Sinclair Bohemian Bamboo (CT Shade wrapper) & Rocky Patel Connecticut are can be found pretty cheap at Cigarbid/cigars international. The Bamboo was a especially pleasant surprise for me.
Casa Blanca is a nice mild cigar, but almost a little too mild for me. JR usually has good deals on those. All of the above should be in the $2 a stick range.
For a little more, I always was fond of the Hoyo de Monterrey Excalibur series in shade wrapper. These are usually considered medium strength, but they are flavorful, but with no harshness at all. Like if the Casa Blanca is a coffee w/Cream and sugar, the Excalibur is a pumpkin spice latte...still sweet creamy, but a little spice at the same time.
For the money, I would go with the VS Bamboo which are $40-$50 by the box of 20.
Burning my way through a tubed box of Bolivar Royal Coronas - 11/2014 box code. Amazing cigars and perfect burn for the golf course.

Very nice, and should be even nicer in 5+ yrs.
Smoking a Gurkha European selection Habano 2000. Nicely constructed Churchill cigar with a lot of spice, bittersweet chocolate and black pepper. Flavor changes a little with each puff.
Got it as part of a sampler. Not a bad cigar. I don't think I would pay retail for it.

Caldwell The King Is Dead lancero, very nice stick.
El Centurion My Father Toro Grande.

Darn, the Godfather approves?

We need to plan an event again, and soon.

Burning my way though a box of selection piramides - tried the Montecristo and RyJ yesterday - was not impressed by either.
2014 box code, may need more time.

Cohiba siglo IV's
Rocky Patel 1992...impressive.
I had a Quesada Oktoberfest Robusto with a Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest Lager. Blend wise, it is genius. It was designed to pair perfectly with any Marzen style beer. But is also a good stand alone cigar but just comes alove with the beer. I think I have a couple of more left. I may pick up another fiver though.
La Aroma De Cuba limited edition lancero with 5-years of age on it. Magical!
Flor de Las Antillas My Father Toro
Easy to enjoy and a very nice flavor. I think this was my first for this cigar.

I have been working my way through some Fire by Indian Tabac Churchills. A few weeks ago I said they weren't aging well. After having four of them the last two weeks that have been in the coolerdor for 10 years, I need to revise that statement. I am now sad I only have about 35 left.
Tatuaje Halloween limited editon Mummy. Wished I had bought more of these when they came out because it was amazing.
Trinidad, Cuba
Partagas TPC followed by Partagas Belvederes, both from early 90s. TPC has far superior.
Trinidad Robusto T from 2010. Wow-good. Easily the best Robusto T I've ever had. Here's to hoping that this was indicative of how these are aging.
I have some of these too Stick...had one a month or so ago and it was in a good place...they do need more time IMO and will get much better.
Over the weekend...getting colder here so the cigars are getting shorter.
BHK 52 original release.
Cohiba Robo 2008
Montecristo #4 2003

Yeah, this is a decent limited release from Tat, if possible, get your hands on The Frank and The Drac....fantastic and unique flavor profiles.

M, it will start getting warmer in 7-8 months.

yeah yeah yeah...rub it in

I'm hoping for that, but if the others prove to be only as good as the one I had recently, I'd still be satisfied. I had a moderately disappointing Behike 52 recently, and this Robo-T was days better than that.
Heading to an all day motorcycle show tomorrow and the weather is going to be 76 and sunny. So, I picked up a La Sirena "A" size that is 9x50. I'm thinking it should take me about 4-hours to get through it.
This should be on every cigar smoker's Christmas list this year.

I'm more of a Monty #2 ( Cuban) guy, but I think their #4 is the biggest selling cigar in the world.

Nice. I recently celebrated a birthday with a 2010 (banded with the vintage, out of the Cigar Family Charity Foundation) Scorpio Maduro. Very earthy and intense... or so I thought until I considered comparing it to a BBMF!

Very very nice stick and W+A....those can be 'potent' cigars
Im a #2 type of guy as well when it comes to a Monte, but the #4 is quite popular and is very consistant.
Had a My Father LE 2010 over the weekend, damn these burn perfect, lots of smoke and getting secondary nuances now. Have one box left, going to be hard to keep my mitts off them.
