And again, thanks for the mojitos!

+ 1. If I ever smoke that cigar again I'm cutting the nipple off.

They are improving and with 3-5 more years on them they will be almost perfect. I had a "unbanded" 2010 a few months ago and it blows the 2011 out of the water. Tuck a few away if you can keep your hands off of them....not many left out there for purchase either.

A great cigar with 2-3 yrs of age on it...but have found these to smoke better "fresh" than with more than 3+ yrs....they taste a bit "tired" to me....but thats my opinion.
Just bought a "book" of Tatuaje 2 12's...from someone I trust...these are apparently very very good. I guess only 300 made..blah blah blah...should have it within a few days anyways.

In regards to Tyee's stick..I have the BBF. On appearance it doesnt look extremely old to me, certainly doesnt smell fresh and no ammonia detected for sure. This is one of my favorite cuban cigars...with 3-4yrs they tend to be in a nice place IMO. I have some 08's that are excellent.

You'll have to let us know what you think. I've been less-than-impressed by Tat's Capa Especial/Sumatra wrappers in the past, but that doesn't mean the 2012 Cojonus will be the same. I've considered buying just the CT Broadleaf from the 'book.'

The Partagas and Bolivar cigars I handed out are/were 2-3 years old.

These are two of my most absolute favorite producers...I have literally smoked hundreds of each with little to no issues.

I don't have much of a collection any more...I don't have anything older than 3 years of age.

I is/was my pleasure to share...enjoy.

PSA: Habano's is increasing the price on cuban cigars by 10%....so for those of you that enjoy cuban cigars expect the price increase to flow down the stream of vendors. This would also relay to our friends north of the border I would assume.

From what I have heard through the grapevine...prices will be changing over the next few weeks...so that pretty much sucks.

In 'celebration' of this lovely news...!/4 through a Cohiba Genios that my dear friend PH lost to me in a football bet Banana

Such a terrific cigar...box worthy no doubt Wink

Boy, there's nothing not to like about a Genios! How are the La Gloria Inmensos doing? As you know, I have precious few.

Tamed down...in a good spot and should improve. the only thing I dont like about them is the loose draw. Next one I have I will try it with a young Sauterne...I think this might actually work with this style cigar.

So glad it showed well for you, Godfather! I'm due for another soon.

Lately.

A handful of Tatuaje Petit Cazzys. My current "go to" quick smoke. They have been 70/30 out of the recently purchased cabinet (some have been excessively tight) but when they're on, they're very good.

Quesada Seleccion Espana. Short Robusto. Head shakin' good. Have had one of the Coronas so far as well, which are very nice, but a large purchase of the Short Robos are in my near future. Thanks for the recco, stick! A great 40-45 minute smoke.

Padron 40th Anniversary Torpedo. Wow.

I tried one of the new Casa Fuente Robustos (i.e., Habano wrapper, not the old Sumatran wrapper) I got while the forum's 'wolfpack' was in Vegas. My advice would be a definite 'wait.' The middle of the cigar showed impressive stuffing, if a bit tight in flavor, but the beginning and end were notably bitter. If you like to drink your Cabs young, maybe you'd enjoy one of these now; for me, not so much. I can only imagine that the larger sizes are the same but even more so.

I thought we were going to wait a year plus for these. Razz

I got more than one (as I visited Casa Fuente Friday afternoon), and this first one is considered 'research' for blog for a certain former employee of WS... thus the need for the photos. Besides that, I bought my limit of the other sizes as well, so this was just one of six. Cool
Agree with Stick in regards to the Casa Fuente cigars...could benefit from time however the one I had was not terribly tannic although it was enjoyed with a few of there Mojito's.

Has Strep throat the last 4 days...thank god for modern medicine. Last night enjoyed a Cohiba Siglo VI from 08'....just a glorious cigar and one that should be accumulated to the fullest extent if available/found Wink

Their Mojito's did hit the spot!

What is going on with strep? I was in NC all last week, and so many people had it, or family at home had it. I'm now in San Antonio, and the same story.

Interesting...it is highly contagious. It's funny, because Im a little OCD in regards to washing my hands etc...anyways...Z-pack kicked its a$$ in 4 days..just residual now.

Have you smoked that Ramon Allones I lost to you in the super bowl bet yet?
Recently tried a Partagas D4 from ~'09 (I believe): absolutely perfect construction - very tidy seams, perfect medium draw, and a perfectly straight burn with no touch-ups needed. Wonderful flavors of hay, aged tobacco, and leather throughout, joined by a subtle hint of licorice/menthol half-way through the last third. Not terribly complex, but very well balanced and flavorful; add a completely trouble-free burn, and I call that a winner! Outstanding, to be sure.

Thanks, tyee!
