I'm insanely curious as well, but as you noted, it's impossible to know, especially since I just got these as ten-packs wrapped in plastic. I was so pleased to find that the aroma was partially captured by my long sleeves that I left my shirt on to be comforted (which I needed after watching my beloved Buckeyes' collapse) as I fell asleep. Pathetic, I know, but such is the condition of my life right now. Big Grin Wink

What is/are your lighter/s of choice? I'm currently in the market for a reliable soft-flame lighter.

I have a xikar one...if anything goes worng with it they will replace it for free trust me, something will eventually happen, just make sure your shop honors this guarantee.
This weekend:

Partagas Lusitania. I just love this cigar. Not my preferred size, but it's lovely from stem to stern.

Finally got to fire up a EP Carillo #4 Maduro. What a nice smoke! Lots of cocoa and coffee notes, and got better as it burned. Thanks for the tip, marcb7!! Had one on Friday, and had to follow it up with one on Sunday. Just as good. Cool

My Father LE Robusto Petit Robusto. Lovely.

PH
HA! Your reputation remains unblemished, good sir. Cool

The Lusi was a good 2 hours +, and was sooooooooooooo good. Started mild and gained body and complexity as it burned. I am always just a little self-conscious when I fire one up because they are so damned long. About the time I'd normally be done with a cigar there's still a whole cigar and a half left to smoke.

Joe,
Try the Alec Bradley Prensado robusto,it's a beautiful box pressed cigar & also Torano Exodus WEc mentioned. With what you smoke & drink I think you will enjoy them. If you can't find them I'll send you a couple to try but they'll be cheaper in TX.

Just smokin the prensado box press for the first time and it is amazingly good!!
Stick,

Padilla has some decent sticks that are in the 3-4$ range if you buy them in "dealer" packs. Out of the bunch, I think the Miami is the best in the Robusto size IMO of course.

The Dominus does have a nicotine kick if one is need of that, I feel it takes away from the flavor profile a bit but will definitely get the head spinning a bit.
Some general info on the Cohiba 1966...the price is upwards of 600/box of 10 currently from a "reputable" source. I have heard mixed reviews from people I trust. I believe I have one in route and will smoke it in the next month or so and report.

My opinion currently is the price will come down, probably settle in the high 400's to low 500's. Right now for the money I think one
would be better suited with the BHK 54.

Out of the new LE's, I really am interested in the Montecristo...have yet to see a reliable price however.

Both were excellent sticks!

2 of the most consistant Cuban cigars on the market in my opinion. Give them a few years of age and they can be very good Cool

Well, next time you send me cigars, please include a smoke window. Wink

Bingo! 'Got these in a 10/$27.50 pack! Cool 'Figured I needed some more bargain smokes for my friends who are interested but inexperienced (oh, the stories I have to tell - see below), but I realized pretty quickly that this is no beginner stogie.

So I had a long meeting with a good friend, and we decided to smoke for the duration. He assured me he was a seasoned cigar smoker, so I decided to pull out a pair of My Father LE 2011s. (Game on, right?) When he asked if I wanted to clip it for him, my suspicion was piqued... good thing too, because when he started to light it, he tried to light the cap! Eek Roll Eyes In a sudden panic, I literally smacked the stick out of his hand. Thus, I'm in the market for bargain stogies! Big Grin

Big Grin LOL; you've trained me well! The moment I read "upwards of 600/box of 10," I immediately thought, "Nah, I'll probably get a full box of BHK 54s instead." I have yet to try one of my precious few, but your consistent praise for them has been convincing.

Please do let me/us know if you find the Monte LEs.

Yeah I hear you...I have Oliva and Ashton for these friends...they tend to enjoy a milder smoke. I made the mistake of giving one a Anejo and 2/3rds in he had to head to the bathroom Eek

Indeed it was. Big Grin
Had my first BHK 56 (TEU OCT 10). While it was surely outstanding, I've enjoyed the couple 52s I've had much more. The 56 didn't approach the degree of deep flavors and complexity of the 52 until about the last quarter, and even then I'd still prefer the 52. I'll age my remaining 56s for at least a year or more, but I can't see these ever being as good as the 52s, IMHO.
Well Stick...I agree with you. I still believe the 54 is the best of the bunch and will outshine the 3 in years to come. The 56 will improve, so much tobacco there in need of melding in my opinion. I am thinking 3-5 years minimum. The 52 is such a great cigar for current smoking and it will also improve with time.

Had a My Father Lounge Cigar yesterday....very solid stick, not as good at the LE but also 1/2 the price.

TIA.

Im not Stick W+A but these are a little harder to come by as of late...that being from a "reputable" source. There are a couple places that were trusted but in my opinion can not be anymore. This cigar is being counterfeited much more than in its early release so "trust" is key here. Be very careful my friend.
