I will ask/say it again: is there a more generous group of people with more goodwill than those who call themselves 'cigar smokers'?

Thanks for the offer PH. If I can't acquire them myself, I will indeed keep you in mind. Many thanks.
Just finished my first Opus X Lost City Toro (so-called anyway; it's actually 6 3/4 x 48, closer to a Churchill by most producers). Outstanding smoke, IMHO: started out with lots of raisin bran notes and ended up reminding me of a cherry pipe tobacco I recall from my youth. So smooth and elegant, even my GF liked it! Smile The absolutely top-drawer construction really added to the pleasure of this smoke. When the ash falls only twice from a 6+-inch cigar, that's some impressive rolling!
The toro is the best size of the Lost City IMO. Its an expensive smoke, somewhere in the high 20, low 30's in this area. Im not convinced its worth that price tag but it is a very enjoyable cigar.

Stickman, Im impressed, it does have alot of raisin/date flavors with almost a cherry cola background and I also detected a little spice here and there, perhaps nutmeg?

Yesterday, on the course, Federal 90th Rosado....these are getting better each time I try one.
We are having two other couples over for brunch tomorrow to celebrate an upcoming first child for one of the couples. Today I purchased 3 cigars for the men-folk to have after brunch. Don Lino Flor Fina; I asked the sales guy for a lighter, mild style for complete amateurs. I fully expect to turn green, lose my breakfast, or maybe a little of both!

I do not expect to add cigars as a hobby! Smile

With cigar season upon us.....

I know we have a bit more temperate climate down here, WineDaddy.......... but cigar season and grilling season are pretty much 12 month seasons in my world!! Wink

PH

Thanks PH, Wiml and W&A have been kind enough to rub that in also. It has been the worst spring here in 20 years. I can't take it anymore. 9 celcius and raining here. BBQ'd a steak with my umbrella and am now sitting in Kitchen and sticking my head outside every 2 minutes to "enjoy" a Bolivar Petit Belicoso EL!

I like cedar/light woodiness with a touch of sweetness on the finish.

I'd say a Montecristo. If you can get them outside of NY you can find them cheaper, NY & CA tobacco tax is ridiculous.

I've always been an Arturo Fuente fan and have enjoyed each Opus that I've had. For some reason they get a bad rap, almost like they are an overpriced status brand.

I'm not very deeply experienced with Opus, but I've had the xXx (mini-belicoso), the Fuente Fuente (5 5/8 x 42), and the Perfecxion X (6 1/4 x 48) each more than a couple times, and I've tried a few others (Lost City Toro, Perfexcion No.4, Robusto) once, and I've never been anything less than impressed with the inherent quality and craftsmanship. Perhaps those looking for a fat, creamy, chocolatey experience may be disappointed, but if you take them for what they are, I believe their quality is beyond argument.
