My Father LE 2011 "Unbanded". Very enjoyable cigar, worth seeking out!
You know, I think I'm going to fix myself a big, tall glass of ice cold water and head out to my sunny, 88 degree patio and smoke a cigar. What to smoke, what to smoke?

a cohiba siglo VI today and picked up another box of 2010 montecristo LE grand edmundos

Are the 2011 LE's unbanded, or did you have something 'extra-special'? That's a toro, right?

No I didnt do anything special to them, they havent been released as far as I know yet. I also dont think they will come in coffins this year, which is perfectly fine by me!
Yesterday enjoyed a Trini Robusto T and a RASS
A gorgeous day. Outside on the balcony:

Gave the RyJ wide churchill one last chance from a different source. A no go for me. Not as putrid as the last few, but still not a ton of flavor and a really ashy burn. I'll stick to the regular RyJ churchills, which I love.

I've given up on the Wide Churchill as well but I enjoy the Short Churchill immensely. The regular is just too much cigar for me most of the time.
Enjoying a Padron Serie 1926 40th Anniversario Maduro with an excellent espresso from Va Bene Cafe.

That being said, what are accessible (in price, enjoyment and availability) cigars that got y'all started?
...an accessible stick that's still my favorite is the Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Generoso (Toro), a Nicaraguan puro with a Corojo Oscuro wrapper that is as delicious and full-flavored as any cigar I've tried so far and which I've purchased for as little as $5 on special online...
Seriously, right now these are available as a 'Daily Deal' right now online at cigarsinternational dot com for $40 for a ten-pack. At $4 a cigar, this is an amazing QPR! For the record, I am not affiliated with Cigars International, Don Pepin Garcia, or any entities related to either.
Just tried my first Montecristo Grand Edmundo LE 2010: in terms of flavor, this is far and away the best Cuban I've tried yet. Fantastic sweet green tea and honey flavors from the moment it was lit, adding more savory, earthy flavors as it burned. I purposely chose to smoke this particular stick first because it seemed to have some construction issues (uneven color in the wrapper and some unevenness in the firmness, especially at the foot), and these translated naturally into some frustrating burn issues that needed constant attention to keep on track. In the end, inspiringly delicious but not a relaxing endeavor by any means.
I highly value an extremely well constructed cigar
Thanks for the tip, stick. 10 pack on the way.

Do you guys normally go for the humidifying pack and/or the vacuum wrap?

Humidifying pack for me. I've been impressed with how well they work for some time after shipping. I've kept small numbers of sticks (fewer than 10) in ziplock bags for weeks with humipaks, and when I put my hygrometer in the bag to check it - bang, spot on at 69% humidity. :thumbs-up:
Cool.
FYI...I just bought a 10 pack as well to take those LEs for a test drive.

BHK 52 prior to dinner and planning on lighting up a RYJ "Duke" after dinner.

Here, here. Again since I consciously picked the 'worst one' by external inspection, hopefully I simply got the dud out of the way. This really is some amazing tobacco; among the savory elements, the one that I can still taste in my memory is a deep roasted nut flavor. 'Surprised I forgot to mention it in my earlier posting. Given time to reflect, I will buy another box of 10. As LE's seem to go, it's not unreasonably priced, IMHO.
The days continue to improve:
Oliva Serie V torpedo. A gorgeous Nicaraguan smoke.

'Love the torpedo! Have you tried the small diadema (6x46)? It's available only as part of the Serie V Special Sampler, and it's also absolutely top-drawer IMHO.

I have not, stick.
Thank you for the rec. I will keep an eye open for this opportunity when convenient.

Excellent, and far better than my putting today.
A colleague picked up a box of these for me in Cuba. I've been greatly enjoying every one.
An excellent smoke indeed.

Couldn't agree more. I got in on this as well, and have been smoking these on the golf course. Wish they'd have the same sale again...I'd load up! Nice smoke for the money.
Tonight is a CAO The Sopranos Edition that a colleage gave me...ehhh. -mJ

KSC is correct, one of my old faithfuls! I enjoyed a Anejo 49 and a HdM Double Corona (Cuba) today on the golf course as well.
First round of the year, hit it pretty good but short game was aweful...74.

Mine just arrived, and they smell absolutely scrumptious! CI has deals on these fairly often, either in the Daily Deals or in Make Me an Offer. This is the third time I've purchased these from CI, never for more than $5 a stick. Just crazy good and remarkably consistent, which means a lot in my book.

I look forward to seeing what you think of them.

I just bought a nice ceramic top bistro table and chair set that sits nicely on my enclosed back porch. This should increase my cigar smoking 100% this summer!
We had a true Chamber of Commerce day in Dallas yesterday.
Enjoyed La Gloria Cubana Serie #7 Maduro last night admiring the full moon.
