A friend in California is a fan. He has turned me on to some other excellent wines so I trusted his judgement on this and was able to find a bottle of Tynan's 2012 Cab Sauv St. Helena Reserve. Since then I've also bought some of the 2015 vintage.

But to answer your question: no, I have not tried his wines. That bottle of 2012 might hit its drinking window in another 5 or 10 years.

FWIW, Galloni hasn't been overly impressed with the wines with scores ranging from 88-91 and notes like "this jammy, virile, forbiddingly tannic wine comes across as flat and one-dimensional".

I'm hoping he's wrong. 😂

I have been buying Chris Tynan’s wines for a few years now. His cabs are tremendous but getting to the top of my purchase price tolerance.  I really love his Syrah.

I picked up a couple of bottles of that 2012 st Helena reserve when I was tasting with him in his little section of the Cliff Lede caves a year or so ago.  Opened one and thoroughly enjoyed it, but am saving the other bottle for a few more years. Definitely worth putting your name on his mailing list. The cab is often sold out to older list members but you can usually pick up some Syrah.
