Chicago suburbs in June?

I bet Chez Wine Sparty has free corkage.

If something happens that Sunday I’d try to be available to meet up with the RedHawks.

Adelle’s In WHeaton has  treated us well over the years and is free corkage on Tuesdays. Good stemware. It is literally steps from a Metra line. Sparty has been there. Not convenient from Vernon Hills though. Hoping some others chime in. With a pooch needing to be taken out after work, my location options are a bit limited. Hoping some folks closer to where you are staying (Otis?) chime in.

Not seeing any replies from folks in the areas that Wine Sparty has never heard of.

This happening may depend on if Mr. and Mrs. Redhawk think we are worth schlepping to the western suburbs, unless Sparty can find a closer locale for them to meet up at. I know that jcubed usually commutes via train and may be more flexible.

Holy moly!  I just googled Wheaton to Vernon Hills and it says it’s over an hour away in light traffic.  Mrs. Redhawk is balking at that.  :-(

(do they have emojis in this new format?)

I don't blame her...that would be a crazy drive.

Bill - any idea of towns that would be a good middle ground between your area and Vernon Hills?  I could search on some BYOB places if there were a couple towns in mind.

Elmhurst comes to mind. It is close to I-294 and also has a Metra stop. Still a healthy drive from VH though.

Yeah, we might need Redhawk to give us his thoughts on how far he's willing to travel.  Looks like Elmhurst would still be about a 35-40 minute drive for him from VH.

While we are used to some free corkage options in the area, I'm willing to pay in order to meet up with Redhawk. 6:30 would be the earliest I/we could make it. I haven't been to any of the three places, though I know that Livia is part of the Gia Mia Pizza group that we like a lot. I'm down with any of the options if this comes together. FWIW, via FB message I got the same response from Victory with a manager offering his e-mail and cell # saying they would love to host us. No reply from Livia and interestingly a reply from One Fifty One that they don't allow corkage. Likely a matter of not everyone knowing their policies.

Redhawk - any preference on which of the dates you'd like to do this?  It looks like we've got responses all over the board in terms of when folks are available.  It looks like Tuesday the 19th may have the most availability, but not sure if Bill is available that date since he only mentioned Sunday the 17th initially.

Tuesday the 19th is the winner!  Works great for us.

Thanks to all who have been investigating venues.  Livia Elmhurst looks fine for us, but I will let you locals make the final choice.

It will be great to see you all again, and maybe meet someone new.

Do we want to pick a wine theme?  Or just pot-luck?

Relax Mr. Cubed.

Its a free platform designed to make this whole process easier. No money involved. No ads.

Built it since as a wine student it was tough getting together with students in my class and I wanted a network of students across the city to reach out to.

But ya...spam, with no personal gain...makes sense.

I’m usually ok with potluck. Will try and meet a theme if that’s what the group prefers. Otherwise I’m leaning 04 Bruno Paillard Champagne and an 06 Nozzole il Pareto Tuscan Cab, assuming my wife joins.
