Hello All,

Just thought I'd give everyone a heads up here and post what I would imagine would be some well-received info for those Pacific Northwesterners who hang out here.

At "Oba" in Portland's Pearl District, there is a half-off wine night on Sunday and Monday nights. Their entire list (save the captains list) is marked down 50% and includes amongst others a bottle of 2004 Cayuse Cailloux (and En Chamberlin in the cellar, but not on list...you may be able to request it). It's normally on list for $130, but with half-off wine night, the bottle is only $65.

I'm trying to not sound too salesmany here, but will go ahead and admit that I do work a couple nights a week there. I was just thinking last night as I opened the bottle for a really nice couple, that there may be some people here who'd be glad to know about it. So, if you come in on Monday night (or Friday) ask to be seated in "Chris's" section, and I'll take real nice care of ya (in exchange for a wee-little taste of course! Ha!)

Relevant details: Half-Off wine night is Sunday/Mondays, and you have to order an entree or two apps in order to access the deal.

I just might see you on Monday. My wife and I come down to Portland and Christmas shop ever year and to enjoy the local restaurants. We've gone to Oba every time, but this year I skipped it in place of Jakes Crawfish on Monday. I may have to reconsider. We are going to Paley's Place on Friday (for lamb), VQ on Sat (for the 6 course tasting w/wines), and Higgins on Sunday (hopefully for razor clams). If we change Monday's plans I will ask for your section. Thanks for the heads up.
