I admit, I have a soft spot for wines with a nice, intoxicating smell. This one is exactly the ticket. Non-traditional blend of Muscat Ottonel, Muscat Blanc and Morio Muscat (which is not muscat at all, as far as I know) from Niagara winery that no one knows about. Was a good value in 2001. 2002 is even better. Huge and elegant muscat smell that makes you feel young and careless. Think of a butterfly in the orange orchard. Light body with just the right acidity. Cannot imagine a better summer sipper.
P.S. One of my wine tests is to smell the empty bottle the next day. I have noticed that empty bottle of the wine I like smells nice the next day too. Puddicombe's bottle is empty for 4 days. I have just smelled it. Yum!
