The other thread reminded me that i've been drinking quite alot more Cognacs, Armagnacs even thoguh everyone in Tx has been downing rough bourbons.

The Tesseron XO, the Hines XO and a smaller house ABK6 XO is have been my rotation.

I've been trying to  hunt down armagnacs but havent had much luck with the local shops.

Any recs from you guys?

The 1978 Jean Chavé is a really nice Armagnac.  I don't know how much I paid for it.  $100 or so, I believe.  I am also liking aged rums.  El Dorado 12 yr old is wonderful.

I’ve always loved the entire Normandin-Mercier lineup of Cognacs, though they can be more of a challenge to find.

Of the big name Cognac houses, I’m Martell all the way. The XO is truly exceptional and, especially given its availability, it has been my primary high end Cognac of choice ever since before the bottle and name change. (There may be slight differences in what’s in the bottle, too. But I still love it just as much.)

Frapin VIP XO (and the quite expensive and even better Extra) is on the sweeter and darker toned side, but definitely good within that
