Bodegas Monteviejo, Val de Flores Malbec 2000

Strong nose of boysenberry. Taste of blueberry, cherry, and light toast. Very well balanced, concentrated and complex, finish is long with a light oak and leather taste. This was decanted and we had this over a 2 hour dinner and it didn't change a bit. Perfect to drink now and should age well for another 3-5 years. 92 points.

Clos de los Siete 2003

This 2003 was a new release the winery brought just for the tasting we attended. A blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. Muted nose but strong taste of blueberry and blackberry. Complex with a nice long finish and firmly tannic. This is just too young to drink right now but should be very nice in 3-5 years. 89 points but should improve with some bottle age.

Linda Flor Festivo Malbec 2002

Medium body and a strong taste of licorice. Light mixed berry taste and fresh tobacco, this has a nice long finish but also needs some more time in the bottle. 89 points.

Linda Flor Malbec 2002

This is the top of the line for Bodegas Monteviejo. Taste of blackberry and light blueberry, this wine is as smooth as silk. Very complex and has a long elegant finish. This is a subtle wine in comparison to the Val de Flores but every bit as good just in a different style. Drink now or in the next 5 years. 92 points.
