I usually don't drink wine with music unless I am having it as part of dinner. Jazz with a nice meal or classical music with Bordeaux goes well. Electronic music(ambient) such as Brian Eno, Klaus Schulze, or Vangelis are my favorite to drink wine with.

I do know that certain electronic music seems to go very well with wine...some Toronto offliners introduced me to this new method. Big Grin
Woo Hoo!

Brian Eno fans!

I like to drink an slightly musky pinot while listening to "Just Another day on Earth."

For the "Music for Airports" series, champagne fits the ambient flavor. It adds to the experience.

For "Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy" and "Here Come the Earm Jets," a simpler chard, so it doesn't distract from the variety of sounds.

Top Secret idea you can't steal: I'm working on a set of Oblique Strategy cards for wine drinking and cellaring. Shhhhhh.

Funny, I'm in my 20's and I had never heard his name before, but in the past couple of months I'm seeing it everywhere. He recently ranked 15th in the (U.K.) Telegraph's poll of greatest living geniuses. The list is obviously absurd, but it is still interesting, if incredibly wrong.

For me, it is albums I can listen to straight through. Specifically, either The Band or Astral Weeks

You aren't kidding. When did paradigm shifting; popular acclaim; achievement and cultural importance become an attribute of genius?

They're British, what can you expect? Wink

Seriously, I am certainly a fan of The Simpsons but any list putting Matt Groening above Stephen Hawking for greatest genius? That would be incorrect.

I've been a Eno fan for years. However, I don't think he's a genius. And this is the weirdest list I've seen in a long time.
