Best place for fresh black truffles?

I have a recipe that calls for 2 oz of fresh black truffles. Any experience buying these for a not so insane price? I have seen them online from $69/oz up to $125/oz. Any help would be appreciated.

I live in Morgan Hill CA. There are currently alot of wet wooded areas. Any particular type of woods?

d'artagnan's website is one of the higher priced places for fresh black truffles. I buy duck from them on occasion.
