Dear All,

I’m going to be spending a few days in early November at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel in Arlington, Virginia.

I’m looking for a restaurant which can accommodate a group of six to eight people for a relaxed evening of fine food and conversation. It’s important that it not be too noisy.

Can anyone help?

Many thanks.

Noise levels in DC area restaurants are a problem. It's rare to find a place where a table of 8 can all hear each other speak, without raising voices. Here are a couple of suggestions:

Komi

Conosci

Fiola

Metier

Nopa

All are very good to excellent, and rated as "quiet" by the local paper's food critic. He actually takes a decibel meter with him when he reviews a restaurant, and lists the should level in his reviews. Enjoy your stay.
